My rear window made a clunk when it was rolled up the other day. When we rolled it down again it just fell into the door and never came back up. I can hear the motor trying but the window seems to be disconnected from the motor. Any ideas? How do I remove the door panel to check it out? I'm afraid to pull too hard and break it.
Hello @355spider ,
I believe that you have a GT, if so, here are some pictures I took to show the screw locations, you will remove the lower rear seat, just lift straight up and remove, next, remove the upright portion of the rear seat by removing one 12 point bolt at the bottom, then lift straight up and out, now you have to pull the wood trim panel off to gain access to the one mounting screw located behind it, use a plastic trim tool to pop out the rear portion of the wood trim on an angle and pull out far enough to clear all studs shown in aqua off of their retainer clips, then slide it to the rear to pull the hook clip shown in yellow out of it's slot, now see all the mounting screws for the full panel itself shown by the red arrows, up on the top piece with the tweeter, you will see a felt trim piece that has a curve to it, gently pull that out only about 3/4 of an inch to access the screw behind it, do not pull to hard or far, as it only has about an inch or inch and a quarter of a tail piece as it's retainer to hold in place.
My first picture of my red interior did not show all the locations of mounting, so I just pulled out the leftover scrap from the parts vehicle to show, I hope the pictures came out good, kind of did a rush job with them.

One thing to keep in mind, I believe that you have a 2005 GT, therefore if you choose to by a used or new window regulator, be aware, the 2004-2005 use a different window regulator then the 2006 and newer GT, when I did my 2005 rebuild, I decided to leave the rear window regulators and glass in place, and just install the 2006 window control module/motor onto the 2005 regulators, as the 2005 only had 8840 miles on it, well, the 2006 window motor/modules would not mount up to the 2005 regulators, as the 3 mounting screws had different pattern for mounting, very small difference, but enough to not allow them to match together, I thought I had left versus right wrong, but they weren't, they just didn't match, so I had to install the 2006 regulators with their matching modules/motors.
Hello @iSteve ,
Not to knock the video, but, Luke was pretty rough on the panel, and if you noticed, he yanked the panel off without removing the upper felt piece, therefore the trim panel were the screw mounts splits, and rips the clip and screw from the panel, you can see the screw and clip still on the body, and I assume that is why he got quiet... 🤐
Also, as noted in the comments on the video, one does not start at the front of the wood trim for removal, as by shoving that big plastic trim tool in there, one is bending the metal clip to far open, even if one tries to push it back in by hand, it still could remain loose, therefore leaving the front of the wood trim to rattle in place, that is why the instructions say to pull from the rear and slide to the rear.
I only make these comments to help, my intent is not to criticize, I have broken pieces of the 2006 parts car myself, that is how I learned to take my GT apart without damage.
Ok for the panel off and motor out. Not sure what isn't connected though. The cable system seems loose. It was loose off the bottom pulley. We ran the cable under it but the top is loose and we can't see where it goes.
OK got it all out of the door and the top pulley just basically blew itself up. I founds the repair kit on eBay. It's a lot cheaper than buying the assembly. I can't seem to find the pulley for the top.

Hello @355spider ,
Just to clear up some confusion I now have after reading your comments again, I thought that you had a GT, therefore I posted all pictures of the GT rear side panel, now, just this moment I realized I missed your comment as to "door", not once but twice in your first post, now I see you still referring to the "door", did I give you the wrong information, GT versus FS, or, did you not mean door, as the window regulator you pictured sure looks like a GT, if a GT, then the window regulator is in the rear quarter panel.
