Please see attached picture. I have a 2009 FS Speed and I was admiring my engine when I noticed this. Is there supposed to be something plugged into it?

I don’t have that “port” on my 2005 GT

 

My engine is the Speed version; hence, the black intake manifold. Have no idea if that "port" needs a plug?

Rest assured that you are not missing anything, I have seen this on certain years and or models, base, Speed, and the Supersports, on the 2008 base engine they were used, but not on an 07 base engine, nor on the 2014 base engine, or on my 2011 Supersports engine, yet I believe iirc they were used on my 05 engine and maybe the 06 parts engine, I will have to look at some older pictures or even the engine wiring harnesses that I have, I did think it was odd that the 2014 base engine still had the same pieces as my 11 SS and still not being used, yet when I was retrofitting a 2008 engine harness to fit the 2014, the 2 plugs were there in the harness to plug right into both solenoids, there are 2 of them, the one you pointed out, and one down on the front of the engine above the alternator.

My 2014 Speed appears to have the same port.



It is hidden under the serpentine belt guard




Nothing missing
