Add a front camera?
Add a front camera?
More than once I've pulled into a parking space and encountered a parking block that's a little too high. I've seen front cameras added as part of an infotainment upgrade but has anyone come across one that would work without tearing apart the existing system?

I have a factory front camera on my Mercedes X-class truck, and I love it. It's so much easier to know how far I can pull up compared to the beeps and blinking lights. The problem with adding one after-market, without the vehicle being equipped/programmed for one to begin with, would probably be how to get the video on the main screen? Obviously you wouldn't want a tacky second screen just for that, especially not in a Bentley. I don't even know if these Tesla-style Android units can support more than one camera...

Good morning, I have a front camera installed and my vehicle has an older system, it's Gen 1. I don't know how they did it but they put it on me when I installed carplay without modifying the aesthetics and original menu of the car. Pressing a button that I have in the ashtray, I change the menu to original-carplay-front camera.
There is a video that I uploaded in the forum of the system that they installed for me.

One option I'm considering is putting an easily mounted wireless camera (only a power connection) that would be viewable on my phone. I'm playing with the JoyTrip app now before I buy the camera. I found that, without touching the phone, I can say "Hey Google, open JoyTrip," and it opens right up to the viewing screen. If it'll automatically connect to the camera's WiFi I think it may be all I need.
ok cool how it is integrated - is this on automatically when pdc will start chiminng?
the display automatically switches to camera without any interventoom on your side?
and how is the maintenance of it? cumbersome? i mean the dirty lens in this position?
