Have a fault code J528 on my 2005 GT. also a 20211 control circuit for rear illumination lights. Are these related faults? Where is the roof module in the car? Had the headlining issue fixed last month and wondering whether related?

What type of scanner are you using ?
"J528" is not a fault code, it is the designation name for the roof electronics control module, which is located at in the roof controls/map lights/mics/buttons assembly, which is mounted above your head between the two sun visors.

The "20211" does not come up as a VAG code, so please clarify which "rear illumination lights" you are referring to, interior or exterior, as you mention headlights.

Please post a scan of faults.

Thanks for quick reply. It’s a vcds scanner, new to me so learning at moment. Car is showing three codes. Unsure if they are related ? Car is new to me and headlining done last month

I am thinking just as with @stevedavies 's situation, someone left something unplugged, as Steve had his headliner repaired, and you have had you windshield replaced, therefore most likely someone left something unplugged or not fully seated on your windshield mounted item, or in the overhead roof console itself.

Do you have a scan, do the rain sense wipers work properly, or the automatic exterior lighting, or dimming mirror, map lights front and rear, 2005 for the rear maps only.
