Is anybbody using it? I have the dreaded bentley screen logo resetting issue on my new to me 2015 FS. I looked into replacing the head unit, but understand that they frequently fail!
Anyhow, I'm considering this one. Anybody do the install? I did a similar uppgrade on my maserati Granturismo. That dash tear down is horrific compared to how easy the Bentley seems. I did that THREE times over 5 years.
Im considering the android 12 version with a slightly smaller screen as I dont want to give up the wood veneer.
from what I can see there are THREE major variants. There are TWO "Tesla" style screens, the one you have piuctured, and the "Aucar" version - which has 6 physical buttons on the sides of the panel (3 per side).
I've searched the forums and read the threads. I think that the one you have is primarily used in Gen1 cars? As I mentioned, I'vetaken apart my maserati dahs (very dificult) three times. The first unit had some hardware issue that required the second tear down. Then...it finally failed an i replaced with a Acar navi.
What I learned from this expereince is that many of these units LOOK similar - but the more $$$ ones have better software integration, spell checking lol and buidl quality.
The biggest hesitation I have is losing the physical buttons. The second is losing the wood veneer. How well does the trim piece match your car? Is it actually real wood?
Also do you have any issues with the lack of physical buttons?
I'm also hoping to hear from GEN2 owners who may have used the smaller screen Android 12 unit I showed above. This unit allows you to retain your OEM veneer trim piece.
I own a 2013 GT Speed and just installed Apple CarPlay (does Android as well). I did a lot of digging as most of the ones I saw, including the Mozart version and other similar ones, had a big drawback. They did not use the steering wheel buttons and had to have a separate microphone installed. Made mo sense. I did eventually find one that does use the steering wheel buttons - the menu button long press swaps between the Bentley display and the Apple CarPlay display (more logical - no need for added buttons to do that or using one of the buttons below the screen), uses the voice button for Siri (Hey Siri/Siri works well) and uses the steering wheel volume button. In addition, it uses the car's OEM microphone - no need to add yet another one and have to wire it in. In addition, you only need to select AUX as the input and do not have to run a cable through to the multi-media unit in the glove box and plug in there (although see below). It is not necessary.
The vendor is Kremer Sino (yes - in China) and it is available through AliExpress - https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804683272133.html. It is nothing like as expensive as the Mozart units. I did ask Mozart about use of microphone etc., and got this answer: "Unfortunately, Bentley modules can't work with the original microphone, however, we are the only sellers that supply top of the line quality microphone with the module. (Not the cheap microphones that other sellers provide)." I did not buy it because of this and the price.
There is one issue with these add-on units - it is not all plain sailing. They suggest that you can simply add the extra bulky cables and add-on unit behind the original infotainment unit. Will never happen! Had the same issue with a Mercedes. There is simply not enough room. If you watch the video for the Kramer unit you will see that they wrap the unit in foam and simply slot it down into a gap at the back of the area you pulled the original unit from. On my GT Speed that gap was simply not there. There was no way to get the cables and the Kramer unit behind the existing infotainment unit. All is not lost though. I pulled the two main add-on cables through to the top of the glove box - there is a small pop out panel at the top above where the CD/DVD player is. (You can use a wire coat hanger to feed the cables). So in my case the add-on Kramer unit is in the top of the glove box. Works just fine. You will notice that the Kramer unit looks very different to the Mozart and similar units. See photos of the finished install in action on a Gen2. It is set to automatically fire up when I get into the car.
Hope that is useful!

@PeterHS That looks amazing! It retains the stock look that I love. However, the only issue that I'm wondering about is whether this can replace/restore a failing OEM head unit that is doing the constant rebooting bentley logo issue. Did you have that?
I think the issue is related to a HDD failure. DId you have that issue as well? - or did you just want to add airplay?

Yes it retains the stock look - with the Tama Ash I did not want to lose that! Did not have an HDD fail or the standard infotainment unit failing - just wanted CarPlay! Was so used to it on my other car... also convenience: for example looking up a destination on Apple maps on my iPhone and then having it automatically pop up on the screen in the car when I got in with no need to re-input.
thx for the innstall video - it looks pretty simple. I was alreayd able to get my wood trim piece removed.
So now, I'm wondering if I can use this if my OEM rdio is doing the rebooting thing... @PeterHS was yours affected?
PS, I'm talking to the Mozart guy - he says that the steering wheel buttons are supported, and that the MIC is built into the unit
Not sure about affecting or being affected by the rebooting thing. I did not have that issue. Just wanted CarPlay with keeping the original screen and wood veneer. I would check what he means by "mic built in to the unit". Given the response I got from them it means you have a separate mic and it is plugged directly into the add-on unit they supply with a 3.5mm plug. Not what I wanted at all. Did not want two mics. A video I saw showed hiding the new mic above where the screen is behind the veneer. Not ideal. Also note what I said about the room you have behind the infotainment unit to fit everything. It is usually nothing like enough. You will see other videos on YouTube where the add-on unit is underneath the carpet in the passenger footwell or double-sided taped to the left side of the center console. All rather "Heath Robinson".
Just be careful of the bit which shows the installer pushing the add-on unit wrapped in foam into a "slot" at the back of the infotainment unit location. It does not fit! Or maybe it's just my GT Speed. The unit would not go there at all on my install which is why I re-routed the two main connect cables into the glove box and put the unit there.
I registered for an account just so I could reply to your question. I just completed installing the Mozart Electronics in my 2005 Bentley CGT. So far the steering wheel controls do seem to work, and the radio seems to work just fine. I ran into one issue and after some troubleshooting I found out that I had a fuse that had gone.

Thanks for registering to respond, and welcome to the site!
So..how is it? I'm most concerned whether pressing the suspension damping setting or level setting brings up the icons on the screen when you hit the button?
Also - does the TPMS show numbers around the car icon?
I'm happy to hear the steering wheel controls work.
What about the sound quality. I did one of these on my Maserati and it completely transformed the stock stereo. Are there any improvements to the sound?
Lastly - what is the quality of the black plastic? I want to use the smaller screen version to avoid the black plastic and retain my wood veneer. What do you think?

Could you please show some more pictures of your screen? What does the home screen look like, when you first start the car? It seems to be the same size as the screen in my 2007, but I don't believe I have the added two rows of buttons above the Home-icon. ("POWER" and such) Perhaps I am missing out on an update..
BTW, I have Piano Black accents with my otherwise Hotspur red interior, and the shiny black plastic around the Chinese touchscreen is really spot on. I feel like I have a brand new 15-year old Bentley since I installed that screen. heh
