New front struts & upper bushings '16 GT
I started getting the dreaded "STOP! TOO LOW" message when I'd first start the car and it'd take a minute to go away. Front end was sitting low. Just shy of 30K on the clock. My indie guy replaced both front struts and the upper control arm bushings and did an alignment and all is well... except my checkbook! About $12,500!

Did you buy oem struts? I bought reman ones for $500 lol. I was so skeptical but they are actually amazing. I’ve had them since September of 2023. $10,500 is what the dealer quoted me. I supplied the dealer with my reman struts, and they did the install.
Well, I have some more info. One of the new Arnott struts was defective! When I drove the car after the initial replacements I was hearing a sound similar to a dragging brake caliper but I knew it wasn't the brakes. Brought it back a day or two later and they took it in for some testing. After a bit of head scratching they determined that one of the new struts was leaking and swapped in a new one. All is well now!

I would be loking to these Arnott guys to pay for the labour charges you incured to find out that they sold you a product that
A .. Was faulty as supplied ...from the getgo down to them not really testing them ...Makes you wonder how many times they have got away with it really
B .. Was not fit for purpose in the first place as supplied by them ?
Anyway your sorted now @BruceR Hope things stay OK .
I would not trust them myself after reading of you mishap

These struts start to fail as they age, regardless of mileage. One of my front struts started leaking in late 2023, with 46k miles. I replaced both fronts with aftermarket ones. Believe it or not, I got two new aftermarket struts with a 3 year warranty, for around $600. A great deal in my opinion, compared to the almost $11,000 quote from the dealer.

My mechanic said that he sees a lot less of this on the V8's due to reduced weight. I have my eye on a 2020 V8 right now and I'm thinking moving up to Gen 3 might be nice.
