Fuel Pump Modules. How to replace??
Fuel Pump Modules. How to replace??
Hi,
I own a 2014 Continental GTC. V8
I’ve scanned the car and I have to replace the fuel pump modules. I thought all along it was 1 and it was on top of the tank, but tonight I’ve spotted them (2 of them) under the rear axel.
However there is a chassis’ reinforcement bar that goes right where I would need my hands to be in order to replaced them.
Because the car is a convertible car I have all of these bars underneath.
So I tried removing them tonight, but as I undid the last 2 longer bolts (1 on each side) that hold the bar in place, also happen to be holding an aluminum cross member (that serves as the attachment point for the lower rear suspension arms), and it also started to move down a lot!!! Don’t forget I was under the car (the car was on ramps) and I really just freaked out!!!
Luckily I still had 5 threads left on the last bolt, so I righted it as fast as I could and put all of the other bolts back on, while I was still shaking. This car is 5500lbs and I had a quick vision of the suspension collapsing on me while I was under the car…
Could Anyone shine some light on how to get to this modules??
Perhaps the way I was doing it was the right way and maybe I should have secure the suspension with some support so it would stay in place?? While I was finishing removing the reinforcement bar??
I really appreciate some help! Thank you all in advance.
