I wanted to see if anyone knows what this warning sign means and what needs to be fixed.
When I start the car, I get a warning on the dash saying check parking lamp. I have no idea which "lamp" is considered the parking lamp. The headlights and taillights are all fine. The brake lights are also fine. Where is the parking lamp located and does anyone know what needs to be done to fix this issue?
So, I have had this warning come up for a while. Previously, it would come up sometimes and other times it would disappear. I had another issue with the right taillight. The brake lamp went out. I recently changed the taillight and was hoping for the warning sign to go away but it did not.
There is no condensation in the taillight. And, I believe all the side markers work.
They refer to the sidelights tat are visible from the side of the car.
Ok. I have never really paid attention to them and if they turn on or not. During the daytime, you can't really tell. I will check in the evening.
Like I had mentioned, the warning comes and goes. It stopped showing up again last night. I am assuming there is some connection/wiring issue which is loose somewhere because if the lamp itself was broken, the warning would stay on all the time.
@feeldaxtc ,
The parking lights are all around the vehicle, the front side markers in the fenders, the parking lights inside the headlights, the built-in to the taillights rear side markers, and the taillights themselves as parking/driving lights, I would also check the licenses plate lights, as the are on the parking light circuit.
Just to note, the headlight switch positions, 1st position, 0 = all lights off, 2nd position = all lights Auto, 3rd position = parking lights only, 4th position = both headlights and all parking lights, of course both positions 3 and 4 are manually operated, whereas left in position 2, all is automatically operated.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. So I guess I need to check all of the above and see if there is any which is not turning on.
