Couple of months ago I came back off holiday and noticed my 05 Continental wouldn't start at all, nothing would happen when turning the key or pressing the start stop. Since then I've been able to get it started with putting ignition on and pressing the starter relay in the boot. After some diagnostic in the local garage and with a Bentley specialist, the code of 0180 Access/Start Authorization Antenna, Passenger Side is appearing, along with Relay 2 Voltage Supply Terminal 50 Short Circuit to Positive.
From my understanding (and I want to confirm here) is that the Antenna in the A Pilar of the Passenger side is faulty and thus not allowing the car Authorization to turn over via Key?
If that is correct, am I able to just switch over the Antenna and it should work, or would I need to reprogram the Key or Kessy Unit?
As to your issue, a full scan would be helpful, along with knowing the type of equipment used to scan, like Ross-Tech VCDS or ODIS VAS 5054.
The fault code is actually 00180, and as you stated, it is in regards to R135, and R135 is not in either of the A-Pillars, be it passenger or driver side, it is in the exterior door handle of your passenger (RHD) door itself, just as R134 is in your drivers side exterior door handle.
As to this R135 fault keeping to vehicle from starting, I am not so sure, as your beginning comment is a little confusing, you say that nothing would happen when turning the key, or pressing the s/s button, but then you say you put on the ignition and jump the starter relay in the boot to start the engine, so, I can only assume that you have always been able to power up the instrument cluster with the key in the ignition since this issue started, just that the engine won't crank by key or push button start, and that you also have no warnings of immobilizer on the instrument cluster, does the start stop button power up the instrument cluster on it's own, does the keyless entry work to enter the vehicle after locked ?
Or, are you "putting the ignition on" by applying power to the instrument cluster/ignition circuit/fuse, then pressing the starter relay ?
If you have no IMMO warnings, and the instrument cluster powers up with the key in the ignition, I would seriously check out the issue with "Relay 2", as it plays a role in the starting of the engine, as does the 80/100 amp mega fuse at the bottom of the house battery.
So some information on instrument cluster powering up, along with any IMMO warning, and some information on what you have done since you found her not to start, any battery replacement or charging, any checking of all fuses, mega fuses, relay 2, etc ?
Im probably getting confused with part 3D0909141F that from diagrams I've found is in the boot and A Pillar.
Thanks for providing the info on where the actual part is located.
As for my issue I'll try go into more detail. So when putting the key in and turning with or without brake, the Ignition will come on as usual. No lights and no Immo warning, nothing coming up on the screen at all. When turning the key with brake to turn it over, nothing happens at all. No sound of a crank, the ignition stays on, no warning comes up, absolutely nothing will happen. If I press the start button at the same time, it'll just switch the ignition off.
I've tried the procedure of turning the key to the right for 5 seconds then back to the left and pressing start, it just cuts the ignition.
I've tested all relays and fuses and all are in working condition. I've also bought a née relay to replace the old and it doesn't change anything.
The way I get it started is why putting the key in the ignition, turning the key to the On position so the ignition is on, then going to the Boot Fuse Box, take the cover off the start relay and press the coil in which cranks the engine and it starts up.
I can't provide any other info about code readers and fault codes apart from the one I've attached, it was all down the garage and getting info is like pulling teeth.
All I know is the Kessy was tested and in working condition and a wire loom was ran from the ignition relay to the starter relay and it made no difference. There was a Bentley specialist that took a few hoirs looking at it and he said it could be the Start/Auth Passenger Error 00180 that's causing it.
