I rolled into a sign due to a seizure.
Almost three months and Herb Chambers Bentley still can't fix it because they can't get the front impact bar. $28k in damage and no idea if they will ever be able to fix it.

Seems like they could source one from the Salvage yards-has to be one somewhere. Sometimes you have to do the detective work for the body shop, because they just want to use the easy button.

I have suggested that part, but it is not an approved vendor for the insurance company and Bentley wont install used parts.

I've accepted responsibility for the used part if they will install it. This may help, but not yet.
This is beyond frustrating .

 

Simple fix, Bentley isn't only body shop, in fact there maybe why better ones out there. Pull your vehicle and take it somewhere else-your car, your the boss!

That's not even legal-they can't do that. Heck you could buy the parts and probably still cut a 1/3 off that ridiculous estimate. Insurance companies force body shops to use either used or aftermarket parts on every job, but your telling me they are going to put up with Bentley playing this game, I just don't believe it. Lucky they aren't dealing with me they would be headed to court in a heartbeat. Why put a customer thru this?? After this I imagine you can't wait to place your order for a $200K + Bentley!

Sorry, but I agree 100 % with 09Speed, your last comment of "It is not an option", is absolutely ridiculous, so whomever is giving you that false information, they deserve a good ear full.

As stated, you could walk into the Bentley parts department and order the parts yourself, just as others here have.

If you would like, you could post the part numbers of the items needed, and I will call and check availability and pricing at BOE for you, and the prices would be at my shop cost discount, not retail.

What really is of question to me is the crash bar infact being damaged, or in need of replacement, as you state that you rolled into a sign, at what speed did this happen, because the only damaged shown in the one picture you posted, it looks very minimum, and maybe even slightly below the crash bar, as even the main grill is still intact.

There are also listings for the complete front bumper with the lower grills and skid plate, so you are better off taking the check from the insurance company and having the work done yourself at another shop, that is your right to do, the difference in savings will count towards the diminished value of the vehicle due to the reported accident.

30 mph road, I was unconscious.
Insanely enough the insurance company paid the dealer more than a month ago.
They found an additional 17k when they took it apart. Insurance paid again.

I know you are comfortable working on it, but no auto body shop would do it. Bentley is 90 mins away and i can't drive, so it extra sucks.
It was the only option.
It is fixed and painted. they need just that part to finish.

 

$6748 of the $17k was for the wheel which could not be repaired.

 

100% Johnny, If I was Rudiger, I would call the Attorney Generals office or the Licensing Dept. for auto repair in his state, or possibly Bentley Corp. themselves, and tell them what's going on. Maybe a call from them to the repair facility will get them to allow the used part like every other insurance enforced repair is done at other shops. I wish I lived where the poster does, I'd love to walk into that Bentley Dealership as his legal advocate and set them straight on how this is going to proceed.

 

I'm pissed off and it's not even my car, LOL. But this is just ridiculous and is really just unacceptable!!!

Has the dealership or you yourself opened a case with Bentley support, as the time frame you have been waiting is unacceptable.

I spoke with BOE parts department Rep this morning, and he confirmed that the local warehouses do not have this part in stock, he is contacting the main warehouse in the UK / England, he also stated that "it's not like this part is listed as no longer available, therefore Bentley must give you a time frame of the building of the item", and that "a case should be opened to force Bentley to give the build or available date".

I also sent an inquiry to Scuderia for pricing and availability of the 36A 807 109 C, although it turned out to be not in stock, my discounted qoute is attached to show price, shipping, tax and tariffs.

I will let you know as soon as I hear back from BOE as to any update as to time frame of availability and price.

I have comments about the $6748 for one wheel, but I do not want to pour salt in the wound...
