2014 Flying spur with 2018 center console upgrade?

Hi all. I was thinking about changing some of the center console pieces on my 2014 Spur with the updated 2017-2018 pieces. The gear shift trim, parking brake trim, mirror adjust trim, and the big piece with the heated/cooled seat controls, suspension, and sunshade, and hazard lights. All of these are different in the two cars. The main difference is the gear shift trim, which I'm not sure if it can be replaced and I can't find the actual piece anywhere either lol. The rest of them are just different because the new 2017/2018 have the chrome trim around the parking brake button, mirror adjust button, and the big piece in the middle with most of the controls. I've done some digging on Scuderia, and I found some of those chrome pieces. However, I was unsure if they'd fit without a whole set replacement. Does anyone know If I'd be able to purchase the chrome pieces separately for those buttons, and if the gear shift piece is possible? Thanks in advance!

That’s a great idea — those chrome-trimmed 2017–2018 pieces definitely give the interior a more refined look. From what I’ve seen, most of the smaller chrome trims (like for the parking brake and mirror adjust buttons) can be swapped individually if you source genuine parts or high-quality replicas, but the gear shift surround is trickier. It’s often a single integrated unit, so fitting it to your 2014 Spur may require modification or replacing the entire console section. Checking part compatibility through a Bentley parts dealer or a site like Scuderia Car Parts with VIN confirmation would be your best move before ordering.

Thanks. I was able to find the chrome trim surrounds for the parking brake button, mirror adjust button, and the middle control buttons. However, they aren't available anywhere, might have to give Scuderia a call to see. As for the gear shifter, the unit is sold as a whole shifter box. On eBay, they aren't too expensive, but I'm not sure if that new (2017-2018) shifter box will work on the 2014-2016. Do you know anything about the compatibility? Thanks in advance!

*Update* - I just got an email from Scuderia, saying that these chrome trims are not available to order. Does anyone know how I could proceed? Thanks in advance!

@Dgeedhar did you ever have any luck finding somewhere to source the chrome trim rings from?

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I’ve found the parts, but haven’t ordered them yet. European auto spares have them available. The prices are $128(x2) and $195 for the pieces. It would total to around $470 with the 5% VAT. I’ve been in touch with them through WhatsApp. This seems to be the only way to purchase these three chrome pieces.

Thanks for the info.

Does the wood have to be cut to fit them, or do they fit in the existing gaps?

Thanks,
Jeff.

I don't think the wood trim would have to be cut, since Bentley most likely did not create a whole new panel just to fit the chrome. I would assume they used the 2014-2015 panels in the 2016+.

After some more digging, I’ve found that the center console wood veneer for the pre 2016 vs post 2016 have different serial numbers. Don’t know if this is actually the difference in the gaps between the chrome? Last week, @jeyjey mentioned if the wood would have to be cut. I assumed that Bentley wouldn’t have produced a whole new trim just to seat the chrome. However, maybe they did. The only thing I’m not sure is if the actual buttons are also different in the pre 2016 vs post 2016. Another thing that I’ve found out was that the mirror control switch and parking brake switch remain the same for the post 2016 and pre 2016, however the switch pack which has the seat heating and ventilation controls has a different model number for pre 2016 and post 2016. I’ve attached another image showing the different part numbers(bigger switch packs highlighted in blue). My understanding is that the parking button and mirror switches won’t have to be changed in order to fit the chrome. The switch pack even looks different in the diagram(mounting clips etc). My only question is if the wood veneer has to be replaced in order for me to at least just fit the chrome for the mirror switches and parking brake switch.
Hope this helps, and if anyone has any input please share!

All three of the switches screw into the back of the wood veneer panel. Note that the tabs for the screw holes on the parking brake switch are quite long. So if the wood veneer panel had a slightly larger opening to fit the chrome ring there wouldn't be a problem.

But the screw hole tabs on the heated-seats/start-button/hazard-lights switch strip are quite short. So maybe the opening for it couldn't be enlarged because it would run into the screw receptacle bosses on the back of the panel? So maybe the screw locations needed to be moved out a bit (necessitating both a different wood veneer panel and a different button strip)?

This is all conjecture on my part.

Note the proximity of the screw bosses between the long button bar and the parking brake/mirror adjuster:

Thanks @jeyjey. I think this clears it up a bit more. Did you find any of the wood trim with the chrome attached for sale? However, for now I might end up purchasing the two chrome surrounds for the parking brake switch and mirror switch just to experiment with this, and give us a better understanding.

No, I only found the older, sans chrome ones for sale.
