Test drove an M6...

It was just "meh". For over 100k I expected a lot more.
Any other thoughts about the car?

was the car brand new at the dealer? because if it was than you cannot test the real potential the car has after it is broken in...just fyi

That's actually one of the positive points about the M5/6. It is tame in certain settings and a beast in the "max" settings. Until the car is broken in, and you can hit the Power button to activate another 100 hp and set the shifting to S6, the car is indeed pretty ordinary. But a high revving V-10 that causes the 285 rears to peel out in 1st to 2nd shift and even chirp tires on 2nd to 3rd shift even with 20" wheels is hardly unimpressive.

Car was at the dealer. I was able to put it in s6 with the power button. It had some punch but definitely not what I'd expect for the pricetag.

Not many other cars that provide 500 for that price, unless you like corvettes.

We have a M6 company car and it is a beast and howls like a F1 car with the upgraded exhaust. Big gains for performance mods as well! You gain 7-10rwhp by removing the stock charcoal filters, and thats free! The SMG transmission shifts awesome, literally throws hard for each gear change on the performance modes. Also from what I know the M6 is probably one of the few cars out there with factory forged wheels and carbon fiber roof. Keep in mind it is a GT car, designed to compete with the likes of the Aston Martin, Maserati, etc.

I've heard they're a whole other beast once they've got a couple thousand miles on them...

i've test driven several of these cars,. . . and all the test drivesl bored me . .. . .

Although - - ONce you buy it, ...get used to it, ...and learn how to drive it. .. . It's nothing short of amazing. . . .

I've owned an e46 me, and now an e63 m6,...and couldn't be happier.

The power, the suspension, the transmission . . . are all incredible!

You have to push it to the limits to appreciate it,. ..if you are just cruising around, ...you will definitely not love this car.

Agreed.... I have about 500 miles on my new M6 and it is just an amazing GT car. And this is without using M mode yet. I hear that after the 1200mi service is completed, and with M mode activated....

My M5 has plenty of punch, but then again its not stock . I like the M5 and M6, I got kinda tired of not having any torque tho... Now with just under 500RWTQ I am happy
