What’s my Car worth?

What’s my Car worth?

Hello all, I was hoping to get some feedback on what you guys think my car would be worth, I have a deposit down on the new M3 convertible when they are released and was wondering if I should sell my 2006 M3 convertible now and just wait. I have other toys to drive so I really don’t need it right now, especially with winter coming.

Here is the rundown on the car; I bought the car at the end of August last year and is a fully loaded M3 convertible Carbon Black with cinnamon interior sticker on the car war over $65K. The car has only 3000 miles on it. I also did over $16k in Dinan upgrades.
Here is a list of the Dinan work that was done.

Sage 4 Dinan software
Free Flow Exhaust
High Flow Air intake
High Flow Throttle Bodies
Sage 1 Suspension Convertible
Short Shift kit
3.91 Limited Slip Differential

Now without all the Dinan upgrades I would think the car was worth in the neighborhood of $51k-$55k. What I really don’t know is how much it is worth with all this Dinan work done to it.

Sorry for the long winded post, I am just trying to make up my mind at this point, any help you guys have would be greatly appreciated.

No offense, but where the hell did you get that number?? Its a 06, with only 3000 miles on it and all modifications are under warranty...

To the OP... I think in the neighborhood of 55-60K is a great price for a quick sell. Maybe 60-65K if you willing to sit on it. Carbon black on cinnamon is a sought after color combo, especially with the cinnamon showing through on the top down.

If you can, I would wait to sell in Spring, as convertibles sell better in the Spring vs. fall/winter. As long as you sell before the new M3 convertible comes out, you should come out more then fine.

Just my .02 from a former E46 M3 owner.

You haven't sold an M3 in awhile, have you?

I sat on my M3 comp with only 9k miles at $52k (stickered at $63) for 4 months and NADA. I ended up selling it for well below that.

Remember, the new M3 is coming soon. The E46's are dropping in value very quickly (unfortunately--as I still love them).

I hear what you are saying... however, a lot of things need to be taken into consideration with this particular car.

1) 06 -- last year the E46 M was made (there are a lot of people out there still preferring the E46 to the E92)

2) Its a Cab, which will bring more then a coupe.

3) Rare color combo-- important, as people will pay more then say silver on gray.

4) 16K in Dinan upgrades. While upgrades typically do not bring much to resale value, these mods are all under warranty, which I believe will bring between .25-.50 on the dollar. 16K in upgrades-- he should expect 4-8K on top of current value.

5) The car has only 3000 miles.. This is a pristine example of the last of the E46's.

Even at 65K, he is still taking a bath on a car he has invested 81K before tax.

With the above information in mind, I will still stand by my original post.

It's a nice color combo but by no means rare. I see tons of CB on cinnamon cabs, i would say it's one of the most popular combos

the car alone I would price around $50k max. mods are very subjective. while on the car, I would say they are worth around 25% of original value. used for sale parted, probably over 50%. my two pennies.

also to consider than an 06 could be an august of 2005 car and could be a july of 2006 car. obviously the latter would be worth a lot more.

+1 on the 45k-50k, its going to be hard selling it for a decent price after the new m3 comes out..
