Decent Deal? 01 coupe to buy
Decent Deal? 01 coupe to buy
Hi guys,
I was looking for an 04 stock M3 coupe for a long time, but came across an 01 model that has my eye. I plan on sealing the deal this Saturday. Just thought I'd ask for a final approval from the forum.
2001 Silver / Black, 50K
Xenon, Cold Weather, Leather, Sunroof (NO premium, NAV, PDC, Rear Shade).
Dinan S1 - Intake, Throttle Bodies, Exhaust, Software, Konis, Strut Bars, Mats, Pedals, etc.
OEM Euro Rotors
OEM ZCP Wheels
25-30% tint, I cannot tell
UUC SSK Gen 3
Painted Reflectors
It looks to be in great condition. No accident or body work history. Perfect Carfax, getting a PPI on Wednesday.
I plan on giving it a professional detail, along with a full service, tires, RTAB/RSM, etc shortly after I get it, along with some Eagle Eye LED tails.
I think after that, it could pass as an 04 aside for the Piano Black trim (which I like).
Anyways, the price is $27,620.
It doesn't have options like PDC or SMG, which I am glad, because I think on an 01, I want fewer parts that can break. It only has 7-8K/yr average.
Thoughts?
I was thinking, if I buy a stock and loaded 04, it'd be $33K'ish, and then I'd spend at least $8-10K in mods... I like what this car has, and expect the savings to go towards repairs.

Haha... Well he wanted $31K and I offered $26K. We babbled back and forth and finally ended at $27.5K + PPI ($27,620).
I too wanted an 04 loaded and stock model.. But this one came up and just seems like a better value to me. After I clean it up a little and add a few small things, I should be done around $30K. Compared to a stock 04 for $33K'ish with $10K in mods for $43K... I'll pocket the $13K and wait for something to break.
Here are a few pictures:

I know somebody that's trying to get rid of his '03.5 for $28k.
Has 50k miles on it or so, but it's SUPER clean. PM me if you're interested.
///M prices are falling quickly these days...

The car is actually in SF, CA now. I am at school in Canada, but from Seattle. I plan to fly out of Seattle, inspect, pay, and drive it back north over a weekend.
However, I bought an S2000 and C43 AMG both unseen from the East Coast.

Hell yeah! Staying at his place for the night.
He has an '06 AW/IR coupe now.. So I hope to get pictures with his car above the GG bridge. Can't wait. The car goes in for a PPI tomorrow.
