Question concerning govt seizure of vehicle. (BMW 7 series)

Mods if this is in the wrong section, please feel free to move it.

BTW this is not happening to me.

This BMW 7 series was owned by a young gentlemen, who sold it to my friend.
* (patiently waiting for the comments about the paint and rims)

Come to find out the young gentlemen was involved in some illegal activities.

The car is rumored to be on the government seizure list due to the previous owners illegal activities.

Should my friend worry about the government trying to seize the vehicle?

If the government does pursue the seizure of the car, what if any defense can be taken?

Thanks in advance

i'm reserving comments on the car, but if he has clear title i think that should prevail.

Umm... why would he buy that thing in the first place??? But yes, if he has a clear title to the car, the gov't can not seize the vehicle.. Unless he paid someone nominal like $1 for it.
