The market for 335s
The market for 335s
Any thoughts on why the market seems to be flooded with used 335's? Most of these cars are barely a year old. I did a quick nationwide search this morning on Autotrader only and there was over 700 available. Maybe BMW has sold a lot more of these than I think.
Did the press oversell the 335s and now owners are disappointed? These seem like great all around cars and very good looking... I'm I missing something (maybe the economy)?

I also noticed that you can get into a 335i coupe for mid to high 30s. Or mid-high 30s. That's a pretty good bargain for a one year old 330 hp car with all that potential.

Don't forget, BMW uses 335i's and 335xi's as service loaner cars thus resulting in an excessive amount of pre-owned examples on the market. BMW dealers are forced to purchase the loaner cars to sell as CPO cars on their lots. Because the 335's performance is so astonishing people tend to forget it really is just the 330 replacement so rarity is certainly not going to be the case. But hey, if you're in the market for a year old 335, you will certainly start to get a lot of bang for your buck if the market is flooded with selection.

not disappointed at all, its an amazing car. im selling mine too though, but for me its just time to move on, i dont really keep cars past 6 months.
i actually drove the E92 M3 and was very happy getting back into my 335i, the power delivery is just so much better in the 335i, not to mention the ton of additional torque.

i have an e92 and am on those forums quite a bit, and honestly it seems as though a lot of ppl bought cars they couldnt afford, because i saw many going up for sale for that reason. People also dont like to let them sit around (ie. ppl move to a city or leave the country for a few months and they sell them rather than letting them sit). Another reason that many ppl bought the car was because you could chip the car to make about 380 hp and 410 ft/lb of torque making it faster than the M3, but recently BMW made an update to track if you added a chip and they can void your warranty. I have also read stories of ppl chipping and blowing turbos and stuff which is a $10k+ repair, so its not as good as it all once seemed. but its still a great car
