M6
2006: Only coupes. Only available for about 6 months in the US, before MY 2007 arrived. The earlier M5 production solved some drivetrain issues, so the M6 does not seem to share the same issues with early production MY 2006 M5s. Uses rotation based Flat Tire Monitor, no sensors in the wheels.
2007: Convertible is available. Real Time Traffic is added to iDrive. Early production has a conflict between Real Time Traffic and HD Radio. Flat Tire Monitor replaced by Tire Pressure Monitor with sensors inside the wheel.
2008: Facelift. New headlights, with orange reflector mounted on the edge of the wheelwell. The turnsignal above the headlights has a different internal design, using LEDs rather than bulbs. Taillights are redesigned. The trunk lid has a different shape. 3rd brake light is on the trunk lid of coupes.
i have replaced all my turn signals to LED's and blacked out the orange reflector on my 06.

you can see the blacked out reflector and just a little work i did on the interior. there is more room inside then it looks from the outside. I just did a little bit more work so i will update pics soon.
theroc there are no problems with the E63 M6 models.
I have an '06 E60 M5 and love it. It is undergoing major internal engine mods and build.
I will soon looking for an E63 M6 to buy and will do major mods.
Bottomline these are great engines.

theroc i read the entire thread. Please allow me to say that of all the cars mentioned you CAN NOT go wrong with the E63 M6.
I do not know how old you are but for the Caddy you need to be at least as old as I am (58) and I still hate that moronic styling.
Go with the M6!!!

. You know your friend Steve (M5Junky on M5Board) recently blew a rod out the side of his ASR NOS modded S85 engine. 'Engine was a total loss, forcing him to buy a replacement. You also know Steve said it must have been a defective engine from the factory, 'cause ASR surely wouldn't put any mod on an engine that would cause it damage. Then you know ASR jumped in and said there was "NO WAY" their NOS mod pkg would cause an S85 engine to blow; so ASR's opinion was also it must have been a factory defective engine.
I imagine you're also aware, Ranger, that yet another S85 engine, this time in an M6 equipped with an ASR NOS pkg, blew up on a dyno down in Texas. That time, ASR concluded it must have been "dyno operator error", or just another defective V10 engine, from the factory.
Theroc, be smart - stay FAR AWAY from an M6 with V10 S85 engine. It's a POS. But don't take my word for it, just visit M5Board and read Steve's thread; or ask ASR Engineering, down there in Florida. They'll tell ya.

M6 would be a car I would leave stock, blowing a motor can get spendy especially for a $100k car with the engine cost of a $200k car!
And one of the only packages you can get with a warranty is the Dinan stroker and that's the price of a 335i
