M6

Hi, new to the forum. Are there any problems with the 06,07 M6s? I am looking at some used ones. What options came with it? I see some with a wood grain dash and some with carbon fiber. What other options are available? Thank you.

Well the E63 M6's, have many trims, I've been to a local BMW dealer and was checking out an Alpine White M6 with with alluminum trim, looks great but it also had some chrome on the bottom centercap of the steering wheel, shifter and paddles. Looked a bit how you say "cheap".. Hope I helped. =D

I'm getting 11.6 MPG and I haven't been in M-Mode for the last 5 months (winter time).

Trouble free through 11k miles. Only thing is gas and oil so far.

The M6 never had a big problem like the 01 M3's did or anything like that, I'd say you're safe.

2006 M6 with a list of mods at 36,000 miles... no problems here, besides my tensioner pulley (covered under warranty) but, i'm guessing that was influenced by the HP gain i had received.

Air scoops, headers, exhaust, ecu tune and getting 11-13 mpg city and 18-19 hwy... its drops significantly idling to get warm after start up, hahaha.

How does it compare to your RR for gas mileage?

haha, the RR is avg 14 mpg. She has been sitting for awhile now as I am trying to get rid of it. Tahoe is now my DD and its getting around 15-17mpg. Looking to do a BlackBear tune to it and hopefully increase the mpg.

I have an 05 on 24's great but not known for gas mileage, damn didn't know that BMW V-10 was so thirsty! So what does it get in P500 mode getting on it and staying on it? Ouch!

The prices are certainly getting attractive on the M5/6's but the fuel mileage is horrible! I know, I know, but it is still a consideration.

well, if you can afford the car then the fuel mileage shouldn't matter. if you need fuel mileage then there are lists of cars that get just that. but, if you want to tickle your fancy with a m6/5 then don't worry about gas. oil is free from the dealership that you get it at!:-)
