[Vid] Modded E60 M5 vs. HPF Stage3 M3 vs. 996 Proto700 vs. Lotus Esprit Turbo

Mexico run with friend.

-Lotus Esprit has 390rwhp and weight about 3000lbs.
-E60 M5 has 485rwhp(sprayed) and 401rwhp(all-motor) and weight 4234lbs plus one passenger.
-996TT with equivalent package to Proto700 (k24/xx) has 550+rwhp and weight 2900lbs
-E46 M3 HFP Stage3 has 700rwhp(but ran 600+ rwhp with pump gas)

Start from 2nd gear about 30mph/4-5k rpm on M5 (not smart at all). M5 didn't spray from the launch at 2nd, but sprayed from 3rd on.

Thanks, Juan. I'm looking forward to your project.

Most disadvantage in these races was the race started low 2nd gear and only went up to 130-140mph max. Don't know how much a passenger would affect, but unlikely change the outcome between HPF/Proto

long story short...all motor tuned make 443rwhp(basically RPI stage2), but nos tuned only make 401/485 rwhp at the moment (just dyno'd in shoot-out mode on friday, prior to that, it was 393/493rwhp).

Oh, I did not realize you changed your tune for the nitrous.

Kenny it seems to me that your nitrous is not working properly, when I had nitrous on my E46 M3, it was hit and miss at times, lol, and if the bottle is not warmed up properly it will not work. Did you have a bottle warmer on it?

I suspect the same but don't want to use as excuse I don't have bottle heater and i was running max at 780-850psi, ideally should be 950psi. But even with 850psi, i still dyno'd at 485rwhp sprayed and it still better than my all-motor tuned for Full RPI stage2 which dyno at 443rwhp (expect about 501rwhp). Last time when it properly heated or pressure close to 950psi, I got 100rwhp more from the all-motor dyno(393/493rwhp)

Even with correct psi for nitrous, it still wouldn't change the outcome between Proto/HPF, but it might be less nasty if we start from 3rd gear roll from 70mph to 180+.

It all fun regardless of the outcome for me. Who would wake up at 4:30 on sat morning

the yellow 996tts? The silver one is faster from previous mexico run, don't think they ran this time though. But this time, I think HPF stage3 slightly ahead of the Proto700.

I like your attitude, but I assume you are picking up a bottle heater?

If I remember correctly your bottle is aluminum, so you will be able to get the pressure up pretty quickly, it will make a big difference.
