What to buy after I return my M5 next month??

My lease is ending next month on my M5. I'm having a super hard time figuring out what to do. Although It's had a few issues (transmission fixed under warranty.. Twice) It still seems to me like almost the perfect car.

I'm leaning towards a 997s. At times I miss the feel of a compact sports car. But I also know I'll miss the power and room

Anyone else move on to something else from an e60 m5?

im in the same situation right now, i returned my m5 two weeks ago. i was looking into the aston martin v8 vantage but all the ones ive found have pretty rediculous apr's. another car i was looking into was the 997 turbo but they are a dime a dozen these days. btw, about your tranny issues, was your car a 6speed or smg?

Which transmission was replaced under warranty? I assume it was the manual.

Best 2 seaters under $170K: Audi R8 5.2, Ford GT, Z06 (the ZR1 is not worth almost double the price) or a 997TT.

Best 4 seaters: M3 DCT, C63....or wait for the new 5 series with the V8TT 400HP/450TQ.

I just totaled my 08 M5 and have been trying to replace it for the past couple weeks. The problem is the '10 e60 M5 leases at about 1600/month. significantly higher than a year ago when they were blowing them out. It seems like all the manufactures decreased production and not only that, residuals fell through the floor because there are so many used luxury and sports cars out there in the secondary market.

I came from a 996 turbo into a M5 and it wasn't bad, but going from a 10cyl beast to a 997 s would bore the crap out of you. There is just no excitement driving that car. No exhilaration. You can extend the lease of your M5 if you are interested.
