I think it depends on what you're looking for. More power down low or power up high? V10 type sound, or more of a V8 sound?

What you're looking for will determine which system will work best for you.

After talking with eurocharged (they tuned my e55 and now are tuning my m5) the tuner also has a modded m5. jerry is telling me he picked up 42 rwhp with the agency power headers. thats a huge gain. there is one spot in the rpm band he picked up a peak 60 wtq. I wasn't considering headers til i found out how restrictive they are. I'm going to have him do a remote dyno tune for us as well.

We have done a few headers on M5/M6 with SuperSprint. PITA to install.

There's no way to keep the current sound profile with long tube headers, especially with if they have larger primaries and/or unequal length runners. Go RPI or decat stock.

Damn, those stock heads are all pinched!!! I remember in Roundel they said BMW spent a lot of time on the headers... apparently not enough time.
Looks like you'll need a tune to get rid of the check engine light too since there's no cats.

They're pressed, but the area is actually reasonably constant throughout. Because of that, and its correctly sized runners for this engine, designs based on this stock header seem to produce very good power throughout the RPM band. Direct comparison:

The advantage of the bigger primary, long tube headers over a design based on the stock headers is the 4-6hp difference up in the 7300RPM+ range. The disadvantage is the up to 27hp difference in 2000-5500RPM range, where this engine needs the most help.
