i agree with you Darren - it leaves much to be desired, and the back is very Accord looking...
I get the same feel looking at this new M3 as I do when I look at an S4 - so similar to the A4 and nothing really to set it apart...

The front looks like it's coming from the new 3-Series WTCC car. Hopefully not the real M3 front then.
Edit: Just checked and err nope it isn't actually the WTCC front so it might just be the real M3 front, sigh...
If it would be my money, I'd get to the dealer as fast as I could and get the current M3. Their new designs are really nasty.

I don't mind it, I'm sure it will grow on me. Though, I wonder why the rear lights are different than the 3 series.
