E46 M3 or E92 335?

I received one of the last allocations of the classic E46 M3's and my car has been built and will soon arrive at the dealer. I am having second thoughts however as the 335 looks very interesting. While not an M car, the new coupe looks beautiful and the power #'s are promising. The car will be softer than the M3 I'm sure but that's less of a concern to me these days as I have little time for track days any longer.
I am a huge E46 M3 fan but I have had 2 others in the past and of course they are everywhere as they were produced for 6 years, an eternity for M cars. As I decide, if you know anyone who would like a great deal on a new silver/black leather 6 speed comp pkg M3 please let me know.

335 will have a better mod capability and cheaper at that, but there's alot out and proven for the M3 right now. I would take the E46 M3 at this moment any day over half the cars out there, i love them!

Are you selling your C2S??

The new 335i would be really interesting...a new engine capable of more than 300 hp which hasn't got turbos but a pair of compressors giving it great performances without turbo - lag and a costant output of about 400 NM of torque useful between 1.300 and 5000 revs.
0 - 60 mph in around 5.5 seconds and 250 Km/h ( electronically limited )...

The new probable V8 of the M3 weighs more having a great number of hp! around 400...

335i if you save enough cash to justify it, say around 10k +/-.For the same price... I would go with the ///M

I'd vote 335i--I'm not a huge fan of the lack of low-end torque in the M3 engine. Having the turbos means some grunt down low, as well as plenty of modifications that would have gone towards a $7k AA supercharger for the M3.

Vote M3. You can always get a 335 later as they work out any bugs in production. The S54 engine is an amazing high reving machine. As such, M3 all the way.

beg to differ with the gangs.

Paul,
u've had 2 M3s only?! i thought more.

what's the point getting another same car especially the production has come to the end? the car will be nothing new to u besides it's just a new car. the hype will be gone in a short time if not within 48 hrs.

knowing u i'd go for the E92 Coupe. not that it's the greatest choice for U but certainly u can use it as a starting point for the upcoming M3, which u'll most likely go through 3 of them anyways. give the new chassis a try as well as the new turbocharged engine. keep the 335 for daily & within 6 month u'll be looking for the GT3 for track fun. after u get tired of the GT3 the new M3 is about to hit the street. by then i predict u'll have a 997 Turbo for daily & M3 for track.

sorry. there's a pattern that normal people don't see. for some reason i can.

Honest to god, after driving my nicely modded stock M3, then my heavily modded M3 with over 500 hp and over 400 torque, owning my stg 2+ turbo, then hopping back into even a bone stock M3, it still was something very special and SO FUN TO DRIVE to me.

Dont know what it is about the M3 that draws my attention, but the E46 will always be one of my favorite cars ever, it truely is amazing and i will get another once my G35 lease is up!
