did you flash with GIAC yet? that makes a nice difference from 4000 and beyond....

I have been thinking of doing lightweight carrers 18's. they might work. i have not done a reflash. i figure headers will give me better gains with the exhaust so i plan on doing that. as far as reflash and intake, havnt made up my mind. i want to keep the mods light and want to do more of a install and play and then see how much more i need to fulfill my speed needs.

As I said, I never ran into a 3.6 C4S, so from my personal experience put the two of them up against each other and who knows. I have that issue and yes I read their long term review. That article almost made me buy a C4S, although the 997 was right there so there wasn't a point. My friend has a C4S, sweet car, we only played around a bit never got a chance to do a full on run. That C4S also put up faster numbers in that mag than any 3.6 including an X51 3.6 50th anniversary. Odd, but different tests different days.

We are talking about your guys 3.4's though, which are substantially slower than the 3.6's, and if a 3.6 can't beat an M3, what in the world makes the 3.4 faster?

The M3 is quite the car on the track as well, I don't know what that guy is talking about but it is as perfectly balanced as a front engine car can be and with SMG is one hell of a track car.

Nightmare on the track? Crappy M3? You just don't know what you are talking about. The M3 is an excellent car compared to any standard 911 and some guys who need the space go for an M3 as it is the next best thing to a 911 and better in some ways. It is a car that porsche guys respect and the m3 guys always respect porsches. You just happen to have that Porsche emblem so far up your *** it is starting to affect your eyesight.

Like someone with an M3 can't afford a 3.4, what a joke.

This can go on forever as we can all produce numbers from any end of the spectrum with the variation of magazine tests. When the cars go up against each other on the same day that is probably going to be of most merit.

Actually I DO know what I'm talking about and the stock M3 is not even close on the track... I have a friend with a 420 HP M3 and he would argue the same... I told him this morning that people on this forum think the M3 has more torque and he just laughed... and he is a BMW guy... with an M3 motor in his Z3 tuned to over 420 hp... give it a break...

your talking about back seat space? go get a mercedes; get off the forum and stop wasting everybody's time... back seats don't come into it bro...

"M3 can't afford a 3.4"... okay... I see what the issue is here... one of status... actually they CANNOT afford a 3.4 cause then you will need a daily driver... and in your own words... "some guys need the space"...... so if you really need the back seat of an M3 that means you need it daily... where the porsche guys usually have another ride or two hanging out for rainy and snowy days....

I think your the one with the M3 embled permanently shoved up your *** buddy... I admire the M3... but when I hear crap that it's a better car and more torque and faster... BULL****...

by the way... I''ve found a REAL torque curve of an M3 motor and you'll see that after 5500 rpm its gutless.... I'm posting this later today... and you and your M3 boys can chew on it for a while.

I already gave you sites to look at to see the torque curves, but whatever. Check out m3forum.com and do a search for dyno if that isn't too complicated for you as well.

His M3 motor is tuned to over 420 hp? I'm curious, what does he have done to it? Getting it to 420 hp NA would take some serious money, as the inline 6 ALMS cars were making about that much.

Where are you located? I am just going to find someone to race you to shut you up as you are never going to admit the 3.4 is weak and not capable of taking an M3.

You are goign to compare a driving experience in a benz to a bmw? I have a benz, have a BMW, have a porsche, and Mercedes are numb, period. Of course back seats and trunk space come into it, maybe that is why some guys look at the RS4. Let me guess, that car is a slow piece of **** as well.

Here I will just beat you to it, here is a dynojet which puts up higher numbers than a mustang. Knock yourself out trying to come up with excuses on how it doesn't have torque or hp. For a gutless motor it sure makes the 3.4 look like a weak piece of junk in comparison, and is obviously a more advanced and better motor (probably why the 3.4 only gets replaced while the s54 gets international engine of the year awards):

Hey man! I have a 3.4 liter and dont think it is a weak engine at all! i actually am taking some offense to this. as i know its not directed toward me, i must tell you i love this car and this motor, and it is def not weak!

Why dont you go to your local tuner and get a chip and exhaust... after all a FINE motor like the M3 should respond well to that stuff eh... easy horsepower... lol...

You type like a retarded 4th grader, this is pointless. You won't agree to run an m3, so whatever, I'm done. I asked what mods you can't back it up, I showed you the carrera S does 0-100 in the 10.5 range not the 3.4 or 3.6, you ignored it. The porsche community is glad to have you, I'm sure.

You've got the one with the CRAP motor.... do you GET IT!?? heck looking at it again it's all down hill after 5000 RPM.... motor of the year awards... how much did BMW pay to get that.... torque... ? what torque?... **** is what it is... hey... print it out and stick it on your wall.. it'll probably take you some time to absorb....

your M3 was designed by somebody in the 4th grade... HEY! you can FIT 4th graders in the back seat as well... my friends mom has an M3.. she likes it... wish she had it in automatic...

Carrera S does 0-100 in less than 10 seconds with a proper launch... are you now sayin your M3 can keep up with an S.. bahahahah... boy this is some serious entertainment value for the porsche boys....

What are you saying!?!? You are honestly out of your mind, in a different world and on another planet, yes all of the above. You do not know what you are talking about one bit ~bout several different things, and the 997s doing 0-100 in jnder 10 seconds LOL hahha, get off your high horse man, you make us Porsche owners look bad!nothing short of a 996C2S would have given my m3 a decent run stock!

It's all documented my good man.... 0-100 in under 10 seconds... well why don't you tell the magazine who posted the time to get off their high horse because I didn't generate that time...

Your the one on that high horse pal... the M3 is far less expensive car (for many reasons) and your trying to put it up against a 911... are you f@#^&^!!! Your the one on your high horse stating a car of FAR lesser value is the better ride... get out a here bro... swallow your pride and see the M3 for what it is...

If you want to believe your M3 is superior then do so... it's your prerogative... after all your the one who spent the $$$ on it.... not me.

LOL, you definitely are out of your mind and ignorant too, me get off my "high horse" meanwhile your saying M3 cant be compared to a "911", uh oh, far lesser car because its cheaper, blah blah blah, your car intelligience is shining right through your pc to mine, or sha'll i see, lack of!

A stock E46 M3 is still even a good race for a 997 C2S, check the thread i posted about both, then swallow your own words, M3's are FAST and unless its an 02+ 996 C2 they cannot even be compared to an M3. These are fact's and from my experience, i can put up all of the magazine times and prove you wrong, have other people chime in and prove you wrong, tell you my experiences and prove you wrong but in the end you wont believe the truth and its not worth wasting my time.

Well here it is, i know M3's and Porsche's everywhere, whoever wants to have a run on film let me know, its put up or shutup time fella!
