Is this car going to give a hard time to the stock 996TT?

Im not sure how I feel about them it will probably grow on me like the new 5-series, but I want to wait for the new Benz C-class body style, the new C63 amg is going to be a monster. It might even be a match handling wise its supposed to be lighter and more nimble than the 55's that are out now.

The e36 m3 had 240 hp and ran about a 14.0-14.1 at around 100 mph. they added prob 150 lbs and 113 hp and it ran .5-.6 sec faster at 105-106 which is 5-6 mph more trap speed. This time they are adding prob more weight again, 100+ lb is my guess and 85 hp. I do not think this car will trap higher than 111-112. That is just under what a 997S runs in trap speed. Therefore, if my reasoning come out to be correct(and i feel that is damn good in terms of reasoning) they will not even come close to being trouble for a bone stock 996TT. Anyone else feel this way?

Does that car have wider fenders than stock?
I think BMW went astray when they stopped bulging the fenders on their M cars...
I had an E46 M3 and think the car may go down as a legend some day. Don't forget that in 01 it was out horsing 3.4 liter carreras by 50HP. It does everything sooo well.
As for weight, it may have a chance since the old straight six had an iron block that by itself added 200lb to the standard 3 series.
No matter how you look at it, the M3 has been an all star in every magazine forever.

That means it has 33 more hp than my car and 18 more than an 01 911. so where are you getting 50 hp more? i mean i have only run my car with a g-tech, but was able to do 0-60 in 4.9 sec and a 13.5 1/4 from that device. 911s arent as heavy as m3s so they dont need as much hp. any 996 carrera model will outperform an m3, but then again, it should.
The M3 has similar acceleration times to most similarly powered 911s. It might be bit a heavier than C2 cars (probably not more than C4 cars), but it made up for it with very broad torque curve and an 8000 redline. Very similar to the mentality behind the NSX and GT3 cars.
