Great post, dont forget the M3's gearing also, i cant believe peole are arguing a 99 3.4 liter 996 would smoke a e46 M3 LOL, from my own experiences even the 3.6 996 c2's were slower then my M3 before i was supercharged and stock!

Now you think the 3.4 is stronger than the S54 and now you think you are beating 360 modenas. I am going to stick to reality you can continue to think that a flat-6 that came out before the m3 inline six that doesn't produce as much torque or as much hp is faster and stronger and doesn't have any issues such as RMS. I love this little fantasy land you are in.
Here are two dynos, one is an M3 and the other is a 3.4, please do some research before you start talking about declining curves, as the M3 has a flat torque curve most motors would kill for:
996 3.4 stock vs. with supercharger:

BMW M3 stock (mustang dyno btw, in reality where we are you can see the flat torque curve ):

Hmmm, more horsepower, more torque, over a wider curve. Do you get it yet?

Same thing I was saying from my experience. No doubt with a 3.6 the driver is the main factor but as the speeds increase the advantage lies with the M3.

All im saying is that from my experiences, i have seen the complete opposite. i can run mid 13s with my 3.4 liter and thats that. i would actually like to race someone from on the board in their stock m3 or m3 with exhaust and take a video to show what I can do against one, because that certainly hasnt been the case for me. i def think the 3.6s are faster though. they trap 2 or 3 mph more and i actually feel the adv goes to the 911s over 100.

I would actually love to see a little friendly comparo/run against you and an e46 m3, like I said from my experience it was a joke, my m3 was bone stock motor wise, I suppose I was a bit lighter with cf csl front and brembo kit but that was it, this was before I went crazy, I would trounce 996 c4s's, it was a joke quite honestly, a friend had one but my m3was also on the strong side motor wise!

I really hope youre not calling the 3.4 liter motor a joke, and especially not the 911.

I said I kept up with a 360 MODENA in 3rd and 4th gear ... whatever that means to you... does it mean I'm beating MODENAS... never said that... but I did keep up to this MODENA who was giving it all...

I have lots of friends who race BMW M3 and 996 and the word on the track is something ALWAYS goes wrong with the M3... whether it be engine, suspension or transmission... its not in the same league... maybe that is why the 996 is a little more $$$ eh? ever crossed your mind why there was a higher price point? bet you never thought of that one eh?

A couple things, I would NEVER trade my 911 for an m3. Second of all, im a flashy person, ill admit that. i like a car that is going to turn heads, the 911 does that, an m3 does nothing like that around me, the 911 does. even more so, im sure i will turn a lot of heads when i buy that lambo G in a couple years.

believe it... it's well documented....

You are on a different planet, there is no point continuing. The only video I have of my M3 racing a car would be me beating a C32, which can also take a 3.4. The only place you are taking anyone who drives an M3 is to the movies.
I'll go scrounge up my own dyno which is even stronger if I have to since it is on a dyno jet. Even porsche quotes their motor as having less torque and hp, so what, the dyno is lying and so is porsche?
The M3 doesn't do 0-100 in 10.5, neither does a 3.4 or 3.6, only the 3.8 does. What don't you get?

No one is going to disagree with that, looks are subjective.

Honestly, dynos can be manipulated to show almost anything these days. its not worth it. i happen to agree with c70pete, but i dont want this to explode into something where everyone insults everyone and what they drive and how they drive etc etc etc. i dont think we need this to go any further. one thinks one thing, the other thinks another, neither of you are going to change your opinion, so why even bother?

Of course they are! i have to say tho, that test you have is very out of the ordinary, was that a tip? not trying to start anything, but most tests you find will show you 3.4s running low to mid 13s at 105+.
