Hey guys,

I need to replace the Michelin PS2s on the Boxster S. The car has the factory 19s with 235/35/19 fronts and 265/35/19 rears.

What tires have you guys tried that are comparable to the PS2s in dry performance and durability? I don't care about wet weather ability and cheaper is a plus.

Also, has anyone tried larger than stock sizes on the factory 19" wheels? Maybe 245/30/19 and 275/30/19? Do you think there are any benefits of going 10mm wider than stock?

Thanks for your help
Sandy

I've enjoyed decent performance with the t1-s in past cars, now replaced by the t1-r.

the bridgestone RE01R are pretty much unstoppable in any street tire autocross across the country... as far as DOT legal track tires best the last few years have been the Hoosier R6... if you have to have some wet weather tread then the MPSC (which is OEM on the GT3) or the toyo R888 are good compromises....

FWIW I run toyo T1Rs on the street.... much cheaper than the PS2 and nearly as good... but better in the rain. I have some R6s for the fun stuff...

PS2 or Yokohama Advan Sports are the best of what we sell. If the car is still under warranty I would stay with N-spec PS2's.

I have all in stock, call me if I can help.

Not to pile on here...but as mentioned above a few times, I think PS2 is the champ for the road on these cars.

PS II is the best street tire for the 986 or 996 that I have found.

Damon,

What about the Continental Sport Contact 2's? They are Porsche N0 rated.

Is there a reason to use N-spec tires for a car under warranty?

Thanks

N-rated tires dont make a difference with warranty, they are just approved by Porsche for their cars.

"N" rated tires have different thread patterns if I'm correct and the patterns are generally the same even if they're made by different manufactures.

How are the Toyo T1R's on the track and autocross? Anyone have any experience with them?
