996 GT3 Brakes on 987?

Is there anyway of making a set of 996 GT3 Rotors/Calipers fit on a 987? I can get my hands on a set for dirt cheap.....

Tim,

I'm currently wearing 19" HRE 543Rs, so hopefully it won't be a problem. Do I need anything else like custom fabricated brackets and etc? or is it a direct bolt on?

Yup, I'm in NY, but I work so friggin much .....

Hi, you will most likely have to change the bearing carrier but do not know with out the parts in front of us. No spec on center to center or offset of Rotors/Calipers on pet.

On the front, you do have to change the wheel bearings and carrier.
I know, we are doing it now.

On the rear, we have not determined a factory fitment, yet for my car.

Just to be clear, I am installing 997GT3 calipers and rotors. I will get the part numbers to you this weekend for the wheel carrier and bearing.

Also, I think we figured out how to install the 997GT3 rear rotors and calipers.... We are removing the 5mm wheel spacers and machining a 7mm spacer to go behind the hub. This looks like it is going to work.

I confirmed that my 997GT3 calipers do have a 996 part number. So they should be the same ones you have. 996-351-431-90 and 996-351-432-90

ONE PROBLEM.... the GT3 rotors will not fit on the front. The offset is wrong. But the good news is that the 996Turbo rotors will fit perfectly. I wrote those part numbers down but I left it in my garage at the track. I can get them on Sunday, if you need it.

Ok, here are the part numbers you will need to change the wheel carrier and bearings. Also you will need brake lines....
997-341-157-25 AS Wheel Carrier
997-341-158-25 AS Wheel Carrier
999-053-054-05 Angular Ball Bearing
996-355-584-9B Brake Line
996-355-581-9B Brake Line

Once you change the wheel carriers the front GT3 calipers and 996 turbo rotors will fit perfectly. unfortunately the wheel carriers are $600 each.

Also, in case you don't know the rear GT3 rotors and calipers will not fit. BUT the good news is that we designed and machined 'rotor spacers'. these are just like "wheel spacers", but they go behind the rotors, instead on top. Its about 7mm thick, so you need the longer Porsche wheel bolts. My machinist will build a set if you want one, I can hook you up. I don't know the cost yet.

Perfect! Exactly what I needed. Is there any difference btw GT3 and TT? They're both 6 pistons right?

I used the 6 piston GT3 calipers.

Its only the TT rotors that need to be used, instead of the GT3 rotors. They are exactly the same rotors, but the rotors have a 2mm difference in the offset.
