Pictures of Boxster after a good wash!
I finally got a chance to take some pictures of my wifes car after a good washing, now I have determined that I need a new camera, my current one takes pictures without any flair or imagination!
I would love more pix of the 6! We have been thru many 914's...still have y dad's first car which is a 71 914-4 that has been kept pristine over the years. One of my favorites was a 71 914-6 we had when I was in high school (great high school car!). Sunk about 60K into it and it was the perfect machine. 2.7 w/ all the works - most fun car I have ever had and sounded like a race car. Ended up getting rid of it when something got screwed up with the timing and I swallowed a few valves - it was never the same after fixing it so we got rid of it.
The wheels are 19" Ruger R10's, with a 2" lip in the front and a 4" lip in the rear. I used 6mm spacers on the rear to tip the wheel out a scoshe as these orriginally came off of my 986. The picture does not do them justice. I am not a mesh wheel fan, but these look amazing in person. On the 914-6, I have it in the corner of my shop collecting dust (and value I hope!). I drive it about 50 - 100 miles a month and even drove it up to Portland and back for the historics last year. Man was that hot!

Thanks guys. I really dig the six, it's a blast but.......I won't drive it in the rain or when it's more than about 85 out as it gets pretty warm in the cabin. 85 with the top off is about max, much more than that and you start to get toasted. With the Boxster at least I can blast the AC when it gets hot! But between the two, I got more looks, nods, and thumbs in the six, people just like nice old cars!
I am going from memory here, but i belive the fronts are 235/35/19 on a 8 1/2" rim, and the rear is a 285/35/19 or 275/35/19, or a 295/30/19 (it's been a while since i looked) on a 9 1/2" rim. i know that I had to get larger rear tires when i swapped the wheels form the 986 to the 987, and the 986 had 275/30/19 in the rear, i just can't remember what we put on it for the 987.
I would assume your talking about the Boxster, and yes, i put the H&R springs on it. It turned out nice, and rides very well on the not sport setting, but when you poke the sport button you better be riding on glass, or it's a real tooth chipper! Actually ran my first autocross about two weekends ago with the local PCA club, used the sport setting, and I think I ended up getting 3rd out of 19. Not too bad for a first timer!
