Hit the 12's!

Well, I know the Cayman S isn't the car to by for drag racing but I just wanted to see what it could do. So I went to the track tonight for the second time ever and here's how it went:

1st run...13.0003@109.27
2nd run...13.003@109.52
3rd run...12.91@109.52 with a 1.96 60ft which was my best of the night.

As far as mods go I have a Evo intake, Fabspeed headers w/cats, and Borla exhaust. I am pretty happy with the time especially with my lack of drag racing experience.

Great times. I have driven a Cayman S in the 1/4 and was not able to get it in the 12's. Nice work!

Thanks Luis! First time I went I couldn't get traction but tonight I brought my NT01's that I use for the track. Didn't know if they would work for the drag strip and they hooked pretty good.

If you haven't yet, you ought to go post this on the Cayman Club website.

That's a really respectable 60ft. Got a digital scan of the slip?

I'll have to find my camera and post a pic of the slip.

Around 4200 and slipping the clutch with made it slightly bog. After the 12.9 run I tried launching at 5200 and spun bad off the line.

MSCaymanS,

Very nice! On the 5200 launch, did you get a lot of wheel hop? I put in RS mounts on the tranny which got rid of a lot of the hop, now I just get bog (but now my clutch is dying). Another benefit of the mounts is much better shifting.

JT3,

Definitely drive a Cayman S. They are a hoot.

I miss mine so much already. I mean the m3 is a FUN car to drive, but the cayman S is on a whole other level! its THE MOST fun ive ever had in a car except for maybe a GT3, but more fun than lambos, ferraris, etc.
