Side Vent replacement/painting? DIY?

Am looking to upgrade my side grills to body colored ones like the original ones OR those that come on the Caymans which are body colored. Anyone have a good DIY on how to remove them? Is this an easy process? What about painting? I have an 09 speed yellow car and would look to do them in black or speed yellow....anything but the platinum silver that they come OEM from the factory. Thoughts? Help?

Here is a De-snork link -Just look for the small tabs that hold the side vent on ,you have to be real carefull or the tabs will break .Its really easy though to install the new ones they just pop in within seconds .no need to remove the inner plastic liner as the vents are installed into this part .Its a pretty easy DIY

The paint process for these is nutty. We do it every week. Hit me via email or on the Order page for more info.

Happy to work with you for an October special...

i put Cayman vents and had eric paint them body colour - as someone mentioned above -- looking at the new ones shows where the taqbs are located so it isn't too hard to swap out

Hey Cpa4S on the swap out of the Boxster for Cayman vents what else was necessary besides the outermost grill swap? Any of the interior pieces required to be changed? Thanks.

nothing else to be done - i didn't care if i reused or sold my boxster vents so i think i ended up breaking a tab on one of them when removing. i don't think you can do anything to the car in the swap - it was just the vents that were at risk.

i think i used a few tools from Macarbon and a screwdriver of al things.

they make the car look so much better imo. of course we don't want everyone to do it!

Sorry been out busy and travel for awhile. Its now Nov. What would I need to do for speed yellow colored Boxster vents? How does your paint process and order work? Is it a direct swap? Or do I send mine to you for painting?

Has anyone done Cayman side vents in a "contrasting color" ? I love they way the side vents look, but on my Cayman S they do not stand out as the do on lighter color cars. I was thinking of red to "match" the tail lights and brake calipers. Too much?

Anyone have any real pictures?

Here is a Cayman that had parts from a Guards Red Cayman switched out.
