11" Wheels on a Cayman

Any input to putting 11" wheels on a cayman? I am getting mixed reviews.

You can definitely put 11 on cayman. If you buy TechArt wheels, only 11 is available for the rear.

Not a problem as long as it clears the calipers and struts.

11's are no problem. the ideal tires would be somewhere along the lines of 285 or 295. some people have gotten wider tires to fit but i wouldn't recommend doing that. also make sure you have the correct offset for the rims or you will be needing huge spacers (i made the same mistake)

With 11" rear, what kind of offset will clear struts and not rubbing the fenders?

i'm not too sure as i'm not a wheel expert. the techart wheels are 11x20 and have an offset of 55 but you are required to have a 15mm spacer in the back to work. i am guessing the offset should be around 40 to clear your springs. you might have a problem if you lowered your car too much with 295s in the rear. many sucess stories with 11x19 with a 44 offset and 6mm spacer to push it away from the springs/coilovers.

it really depends on how flush you want it to look. never run too large of a spacer... may rumors about it putting a lot of stress on your bearings.

again i'm no wheel expert and please correct me if i am wrong. i don't want other members to mess up on their wheel purchases

I have the TA 11" at the rear with 15 mm spacers and you do need to roll the fenders. But rolling is easy anyway.

Am I the only one that thought of 11 in diameter wheels when I read the title? Hahah.

I have a set of Works that are 19X8.5 +51 up front with 19X11 +38 in the rear. Running 235/35 and 295/30, fits fine. Tried do run 315/25 in the rear, had rubbing to the point that a tire blew Can't beat the look of 11's in the rear. Get comments all the time about the car's stance.

This is really helpful information. It has been difficult determining if they will work. Does anyone have any good pictures?
