This is I think what you are looking for. Take out one (or two) wheel bolts and replace w/ this. Then remove all remaining wheel bolts and wheel slides off on the adapter preventing it from dropping on and chipping or damaging the calipers. Also helps w/ reinstalling the wheel...

Available from Suncoast or local Porsche dealer and as well sometime on ebay.

Here's a link to it on the suncoast site not that it helps you in the UK.

Yes, there should be one in the tool kit that came with the car. I got one in both of my newer Porsche tool kits. However, I keep one in my garage toolbox now, rather than the tool kit. If you're missing it and the car is used, then it's probably in the previous owner's toolbox! I imagine they're pretty cheap to buy though and are indeed very useful, especially when reinstalling a wheel and trying to get it aligned perfectly.

Do yourself a favor and get two. Rotate your wheel so that two bolts are up. Take the two bolts out and thread in the guide bolts. I have found that two guide bolts make the job easier and you are less likely to hit the caliper. In the case of PCCB rotors I'd want to use two.

tks. i didn't find any in my tool kit and i have a brand new spyder. all i have is the tool box and a long rod that is tapered at one end. Seems like a lever to me? so I ordered 2 of the bolt adapters and stuck them in the tool area in the front boot.

does anyone else have a similar issue?
