First time to the drag strip and got a 13.0

Ran my '11 Cayman S for the first time today in the 1/4, hit a 13.0@107.9mph using launch control w/ the PDK. My 60 foot was a crappy 2.1xx, so this car is definitely a high 12 second car right out of the box.
I also have 19" rims and the stock tires, so I'm pretty impressed w/ this car. The track seemed slow as well, I talked to a couple people who had recently been at a different track under similar weather conditions and were running much slower today--a guy in a E55 AMG said he was .5 and 5 mph off his usual times

Obviously the Cayman wasn't meant to be a drag car, but I think it can hold it's own pretty well in a straight line!

Here's a video of the run. I'm in the far lane and the Suncoast Porsche modified Cayman S is in the near lane--he got a 13.6 to my 13.0

Me vs. the E55 AMG--you can hear my car rev up with the launch control

Very impressive results for a first timer! PDK definitely helped with those times. What sort of mods did the suncoast cayman have?

Thanks! The PDK definitely is the key

I believe the Suncoast CS has exhaust, ecu tune, intake. It's a gen 1, I think an '08 6 speed

Did it have a bad launch or does the new PDK CS is just that much faster?

Yeah should definitely go back and crack the 12s.

Great run! Our best time of the day was a 13.4.

What mods are on the Suncoast CS? It's a gen 1 correct?

More wheels spin that I would have thought with launch control. Better than clutch spin though.

Yes, it's a 2008 Cayman S. It has an Evolution Motorsports intake, GIAC Software, exhaust, throttle body with IPD plennum, short shift kit, springs, spacers, wheels, x51 oil pan. The PDK and DFI seem to have a nice advantage.
