Wow

This looks like a killer setup. I've been toying with the idea of tricking out a Cayman with forced induction once my 996TT is done and this is the direction I think I'd like to go.

Definitely subscribed, I thought the Boxster/Cayman chassis couldn't handle more power. I'd love to see a GT3 swap in a Boxster though, that would be just incredible.

Can't wait for this TT

If I get the torque I felt in my JB3 tuned 135i in my Cayman S, I'm in!

Hi Gang,

My name is Dan, and I am Ivan's Shop Manager at IMA Motorsport. He asked me to hop on and give a quick update on our Twin Turbo kit for the boxster and Cayman!!!!

Well, the car that we installed our first kit on is down in Texas, living happily making 405 HORSE POWER all day long... With that being done and gone, we are more than ready to take care of the next one!!! At the moment, we are only offering our setup installed and tuned, by us. This is so that we can insure everything is PERFECT.

Pricing. We would prefer not to discuss pricing in this thread at this time. But if you are seriously interested, we would be happy to talk over PM, e-mail, or even the old fashioned way- by phone

One final note for right now- Ivan tried to set the system up for 300 ft/lbs at 3000rpm, but decided that it was a game of diminishing returns. Trying to run that much boost at that low of an RPM was causing the ECU to pull a LOT of timing... We may re-visit this in the future, but honestly we are pretty damned happy with the numbers our kit can crank out as it sits....

Thanks for everybody's interest!!! So, who wants to be next????

Dan

That a much bigger number than the 340 ft/lbs shown in your last dyno.

How about posting the new dyno chart?

Yup... Sorry, 11 hour work days get to you... It was supposed to be 405HP, and 340 ft/lbs of torque...

Is the owner of the twin turbo Cayman a member here? If so, tell us your impression of the car NOW with the twin turbos. Thanks in advance.

Car is for sale. Apparently it has had no suspension upgrades and, since I'm looking for a DD/track car, that concerns me w/ 400 rwhp. Also, that you'd have to take it to Va. if it needed engine work. I never even saw on this thread where all the components of the kit were listed and don't see anything on the IMA site about it. This may have been a 1 off. Would you Cayman guys take a chance on this?

It is a one-off and I am a bit surprised the car is for sale after being in the hands of the owner for just about three months. If you studied the dynos of this car and the single turbo setup, compared prices, and like the results, go for it. There shouldn't be any problems with the turbos so the only engine work would be Porsche related and could be done locally. The car is going to handle the same as before with the additional hp...just modify the suspension later if you feel you need to.

The price of $44,900 seems fair. However, in this price range I would be looking for a stock 996 Turbo.

IMHO, the suspension would benefit from upgrading--consider what F-L did with their GTR variant.

"There shouldn't be any problems with the turbos so the only engine work would be Porsche related and could be done locally."

Actually, that's why I asked about the components. I assume they have replaced the exhaust, added at least 1 intercooler, tweaked the computer, etc. That's a lot of new plumbing and tuning that didn't get much real world testing - i.e. plenty to go wrong.

For the same money I can buy a decent CS and have the full TPC done w/ LSD, etc.

gr8ful, I'm just not a 911 guy.
