Twin turbo kit for cayman coming soon
Video scheduled
Got the airport runway scheduled for the weekend to do some video footage of the car. I want to get on it and while some folks do it on the highway which is not safe or legal for that matter I can go all out to the top of 5th and into 6th. Nice thing is no cops or trouble unless you get chased by the feds in a Helicopter at the airport one night
. Pretty cool Just like on tv.
Will have some updates on that and some dyno results soon. Tune is almost completed. Lambda numbers nice and consistent. Need to adjust timing just a bit more.
The engine feels pretty strong and smooth. Very pleased with results so far.
Cheers

cancellation weather and accident
Updating the delay on video. The weather over the weekend did not cooperate on Saturday and Sunday there was an unfortunate accident were a plane that had taken off from the municipal airport and there were too many officials there so we postponed it for another day.
There were two fatalities. I did not know them but my deepest thoughts and condolences are with their families.
Busy week end coming up and buried at work. Will try to get it done. The car has been running great BTW. The few riders have been very impressed. Will keep you posted.
Cheers

No offense at all to Ivan or IMA but are there any reasons that anyone would honestly buy this new unknown kit over other time tested and proven kits that have been on the market for years?????
Hi guys -- I've been a member of this board for many years but haven't posted much.
I wanted to jump in and respond to Limitup's question. If the world maintained your perspective then we would have no innovation and we'd all be driving Black Ford Model T's.
I've been a customer of IMA for over 10 years. I can personally tell you that the work is first rate. Go there and see for yourself. In addition to street cars, his shop is full of race cars. Do some research on Ivan, there is an extensive article in Excellence Magazine about him and a car he built. That car is in his shop. Go see it. Go to Summit Point and see his cars on the track.
I was in his shop yesterday and I can tell you that the work on the Cayman is first rate. I get it that you are a fan of the competitor. That is cool. However, there is a car in Ivan's shop right now that was done by that competitor. I wasn't impressed at the quality of the parts.
Ivan is smart and knows his stuff, period. He is also one of the one of the most friendly and honest people I've ever dealt with. Go talk to him, go walk around his shop and see his work first hand.
Once you do that, then you will have a completely different outlook.

Thanks for your post BobinNoVA.
I think it was a pretty legitimate question, and your analogy about black model Ts is not very comparable. My point was that his primary competitor has a time-tested, proven product with a track record of success. On the other hand, I'd venture to guess that 99% of people on this and other boards don't know a thing about Ivan or his company. You and Ivan (I assume you work for him) are going to have to do a lot more in terms of providing more detailed info, dynos, videos, great pricing, great support, etc. in order to get prospective buyers to even consider your product over the proven, established competitor.
You could start by telling us about the "quality of the parts" in the competitors product that you are disappointed with, and how your parts are better. You guys keep saying this over and over, but providing no details whatsoever. We are all waiting to hear why you think your kit and your parts are better ... and more importantly, how they are better in the real world.
And just FYI, I'm not a fan of your competitor and I currently don't own a single product of theirs. I do however know dozens of people who use and love their products, so yes I'm considering some of their products as well.

let me put a stop to this right now...we do not believe that one vendor or a fan should promote a product by denegrating a competitors product in any way...if you have a quality product it should stand on it's own merits...it is that simple...if you wish to post positive for Ivan that is fine but please don't do so by parroting some comments that should not have been made in the first place about the quality of a competitors parts or install...post some decent pics and facts like dyno sheets and let members compare for themselves
Limitup --
I find it very interesting that you assumed that I work for Ivan and have a vested interest in IMA. Let me be very clear, I don't! I've been a customer for almost a decade. I've owned a 944, several Boxsters and Cayenne.
Your point about not knowing anything about Ivan is clear. That was exactly my point when I wrote that you should find out more about him, check out what he's built and what he's done. I found Ivan when I purchased a car that he had maintained for the original owner and continued to have him service the vehicle. I moved out of the area and recently came back to Northern Virginia and went to his shop yesterday to get my car serviced.
I'm not looking to pick a fight but assuming that someone who posts positive comments about a product or shop has an anterior motive is quite interesting and offensive. Next time, you'd be better served to ask what my connection is rather than assume and come to the wrong conclusion.

Experiencing technical difficulties with camera
I have been trying to unload the video now for a while and my laptop is not cooperating with me. I will post it tomorrow. Sorry
Finally, after messing around with the computer I was able to get the files from camera. Unfortunately for the drive I did not have a stable platform to support it so I managed the best I could. Hope it is to your liking, if not too bad!
On the dyno sheet you will see how consistent the the 3 pulls are and how nice the lambda trace looks. This was the first file sent to ecu. The only adjustments that need to be made here are at the top rpm range were it will need some timing removed so knock sensor does not pull timing out thus lowering the power at that location. Aside of that I am very pleased with the results so far.
Cheers

Nice videos, Ivan. Looks like you and Ivan jr. had fun on those back roads observing the speed limit
.
Glad to see the Cayman out of the shop and on the road- and those pieces by Crawford do look fantastic.

mike
