Finally worked a deal to trade the PANA for a Spyder!
Yes. But since I bought it slightly used I had no choice. If I ordered one it would have been the spyder wheels.
Congratulations. The Spyder is a really special car.
I'm planning to order a Cayman S but it's been tough to decide whether to go ahead with the Cayman or get a Spyder. I'm also in Colorado. Are those 19" wheels on your Spyder? I know our roads can be very harsh. What's been your impression of the ride with the lowered suspension?

Getting back to the question you asked. 19s on the Spyder, I don't see 18s on the option list.
The sport suspension is certainly firm and can be rough on the wrong roads. It being lower is not a problem or a concern in my opinion.
On my previous C4S and Pana I had PASM and that can be nice as it is good in smoothing out the rough roads. I like going back to basics with a non-electronically controlled suspension and a basic radio!
This car is not my daily driver, but I can't help drive it every chance I have get so far as the Sports Exhaust sound is amazing.
I think the top is an issue for some as it is not easy to put up and down. Check out the video, not sure if you have seen it!

I actually like driving with the top up as it looks cool and is quiet!
Have you had the chance to drive a Spyder? Cayman S?
It is kind of funny you mention the Cayman as I am not a convertible kind of guy. I was looking at trying out the Cayman, but I really liked the tent as a top! I can assure you if you get caught in some torrential downpours that are blowing sideways, you will have water seaping in the sides! There is also a mention of it in the Manual.

In fact I think the tent would actually be better than a drop-top in our climate. We can have very pleasant days, but the sun can be very overbearing. Being able to hoist the tarp would still allow for an open-air driving experience without the sub beating down on you. That's good to know that driving with the top up is quiet. That's always a concern with a convertible, but more so with the very thin top on the Spyder.
I've seen the video. I think a lot of people are intimidated by the Spyder's "manual" top.
Did you get your Spyder from a Denver-area dealer?
You sound exactly like me when it comes to the logic of this car! I would say you should go with the Spyder then!!! Wow, I am glad I snatched it up before you found this car! It was sitting on the lot at the dealership for 2.5 months. It was a previously owned one with 500 miles, not too bad.
If I didn't have the trade, I would have ventured around the country to find one at a better price.
You have to find one with Sports Exhaust!!

cfgtts, would you mind sharing your purchase price and configuration? I'm looking at a used Spyder and would like to get an idea what a fair price would be. You can PM me if you'd prefer. I can't PM you since I haven't made enough posts.
cfgtts, thanks for the PM. I can't reply to your PM since I haven't made 15 posts on the forum
Would you mind PM'img me again and providing me with an email address where I can send messages?
Thanks.

Kians313, I've been out of the market for a new Porsche for several months now. I gave up on a new Porsche and bought a new Harley instead. It's about as practical as a Spyder, LOL. Last I looked, no new Spyder orders could be placed and the pricing for previously-owned Spyders appeared to be fairly strong. If you want to share the particulars of your deal I'm sure many people here would be happy to offer opinions. Good luck.
I have both the Pan and the Boxster, and the Boxster is definitely a much more engaged driving experience. thought about trading the boxster in when getting the Pan but kept it. good decision.
