Daily Drivers?
#16
I've been driving sports cars daily for years no problem. My 05 boxster s is the latest and I fitted Blizzak WS60 tires for the Chicago winter. I enjoy ice/snow driving and even compete in Wisconsin lake ice driving time trial events.

My 2007 CS has been my daily driver since new in June, 2007. I install snow tires when the temperature goes below 50 degrees (I'm in Pittsburgh, PA). I have a six-speed manual and never mind driving in traffic and am amazed how many groceries I can transport.

My 2011 Cayman is my only car, so yes it is my DD. Works for me. I like driving a sports car every day even though I almost never see any other Porsches on the roads around here. I am one of those who actually enjoys driving a stick in traffic-- gives me something to do. I have snow tires for those times of year that it gets below 40F. However, I do try to avoid driving it in snow, not because I'm worried about myself, but don't want to risk getting hit by some idiot who doesn't know how to drive in snow. On those days, I borrow my wife's car.

Dual purpose DD/track car is what these cars are made of...I think you have heard enough affirmation on how practical/great aura/performance cars these are.
Just get one SVT!
Btw, there is no "shuddering" on takeoff for me, 75k miles on my 02 base since new.

You're correct, a ton of positive comments and praise form everyone here about their cars. I think I'm pretty sold and my fears are fading, its just a matter of finding the right car now. The only thing to consider living in MI is that I would probably have to have a different DD for a few months out of the year since we do tend to have a few heavy snowfalls each year. But overall these sond like pretty wonderful cars to live with and enjoy.
