Cayman Exhaust Question?!?!?

Hey guys - I just picked up a 2006 Cayman S a month back as a second car.... Love it so far!!

I bought a new exhaust tip for the car and have a question about getting the old one off....

I got the bottom nut off of what looks to be the clamp holding the tip on... Whats the next step?? It won't budge and I need to know what I am missing.

Thanks for any input!

rob

Thanks... It does look like some sort of clamp.... I thought about a hammer but I don't want to make anything worse...

I guess if its a clamp, it'll just need a lot of elbow grease

Hit it with some liquid wrench. Wait. Try to loosen again. Rinse. Repeat.

i agree. letting the car warmup can expand the exhaust if nothing else works. do not bugger the threads on the clamp bolt

First of all congrats on the purchase and would love to see some pictures of it when you get a chance. As most everyone else has said I would soak with some lubricant and try to pound it off from behind with a rubber mallet.

Got some liquid wrench... let is sit for 15 minutes after I sprayed the part and it pretty much slid right off with a few taps with a mallet.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'll try and get pics up this weekend.
