Yes the clutch and brake systems both use the brake fluid reservoir on your Boxster. 911 Turbos have seperate reservoirs and use different hydraulic fluids for clutch and brake.

Brake flush is normally every 2-3 years, the clutch should be done at the same time.

The 996 Turbo power steering system and clutch use the same fluid.

Porsche says every 2 years.

With my 02 Boxster I was experiencing a hard to work smooth clutch and a bit of difficulty shifting like I couldn't push the clutch down far enough and it was hard to select a gear.

On a hunch I called the dealer service manager and he looked up the car's service and told me it had been over 2 years ago in fact over 2.5 years ago since I had the brake and clutch fluid flushed and bled so I booked the car in early last week and had it done.

Clutch action is now once again very smooth to engage and no more shifting issues.

I'd advise getting this service done or doing it every 2 years like Porsche says.

Its been 3 years since my brake fluid was flushed,is there another procedure for the clutch to be bled or would that automatically happen while does the brakes,Sorry, confused, realize they both work off the same fluid but if u take the car in and ask for brake flush will it also include the clutch and viseversa.thx

It's best to tell them you want the brakes and clutch fluid flushed.
