"Sport" Steering Wheel Retro-Fit on PDK

I have a PDK 987.2 with the regular steering wheel and have an interest in upgrading to the "Sport" steering wheel with the paddle shifter:

Has anyone ever done this? If so what else is needed in addition to the steering wheel to make this work? My local Porsche dealership has never done one before and was at a loss of what would be needed.

Thanks you guys!

Seems it has been discussed on another forum....

Not that it is the end all to the question though.

Porsche offers the retrofit kit. You would think they would know what it takes.
Pay particular attention to post 13

Thanks for the link and for a good read!

It seems though in the 991 that they have another multi-function box they need in the steering column to control toggle screens that their cars have.

In the 987.2 since we don't have that screen I'm hoping it won't be needed. I may end up calling a couple other Porsche dealerships to see what I can dig up, but that gives me some light at the end of that tunnel lol

Not necessarily just the 991. My 987.2 has the additional stalk on the lower left side for controlling the multifunction display in the speedo cluster.

I think calling Suncoast and inquiring about it would be an excellent idea.

Suncoast chimmed in on post #8.

If you can change out a 2009 with the newer 2010 sport wheel with paddles then swapping yours out should be no more than changing out the wheel. You will have to recycle your airbag into the new wheel.

Thanks!

This is starting to give me hope that this is a feasible project! I'm going to call Suncoast today and see what their .02 is on my application

So just wanted to give an update on this thread after speaking with a Rep from Suncoast, he said on 2010 and newer PDK cars that the steering wheel is a direct swap! I was shocked to hear that, but will be ordering one shortly to find out first hand lol

I just found out why my PMs weren't going through, 6speed says I need at least 15 posts on forum before they will let PM's go through...

either way could you email me pics of the wheel to:

UFgatorman1218@gmail.com

is it this wheel:
