Weird indicator light on dash

Guys, my battery died the other night. I jumped it and got it running but now I have this "key 2" indicator light on the dash. I cannot for the life of me find anything on this issue. Has anyone had this occur to them??

Thanks!

It's indicating which car key you're using. Key 1 or key 2.

That would make sense but besides that the dash lights stay on unless I lock the car. I think thats what drained the battery last time...I left the key in ignition.

I'm fairly sure I read somewhere that if you leave the key in the ignition, it will wear down the battery. Not sure if that's what your saying?

I've had the car for 3 weeks, and up until the other day I always left the key in it while at home. Since the battery died I now find this key 2 indicator and my dash lights stay on when I shut off the car. Its not the switch for the heads lights, I checked that. I just dont want to leave the key in the car and have it drain the battery again. I mean its no biggie just more of an inconvenience...

Sounds good, I'll just remove the key.

Thanks for your help!

My car sits in my locked garage every night and I always leave my key in it...with one caveat...after shutting off, I pull the key about 1/2" out to where I hear the steering lock. I've been so used to having my key in the car I would always forget to grab it if I bring it in the house with me.
