Boxster S or Cayman S
Boxster S or Cayman S
Which would you choose-
$500 off Cayman S ordered to your specs or $5000 off Boxster S order?
Since the Boxster is already $4200 less than the Cayman the Boxster might be a bargain...

I think if you can swing either the cayman is a no brainer, its superior in every way unless your one of those people who just love convertables.
I have a standard '06 boxster loaner at the moment from the dealership and its not bad, and it sounds terrific! Its like the kitty with a roar, while my C4S is the lion with the meow (gonna fix that soon).
But from driving the boxster, I could see how 300hp, better chasis would make the cayman an absolute joy to drive.

I prefer coupes as well and the Cayman in particular looks great but it would be nice to put the top down once in a while. The Boxster is a good track car too!
I'm a little disapointed in the taller gearing in the Cayman vs Boxster- it doesn't make sense unless the conspiracy theorists are correct and P wanted a slower Cayman

Boxster S. With a couple of mods, you could have your 300hp. Besides, unless you are going to put numbers on the sides of the car and do some serious tracking, a drop top is nice to have.

I think you need to decide which one is the right price for the car. For me, the boxster was a better choice. The Cayman, just doesn't do it for me. Also, a convertible was an important thing for the toy to have.
I'm a droptop person, and even if I wasn't, I'd get a dedicated track car if I wanted to go tracking. It doesn't make much sense to buy a new non-GT Porsche for track purposes, when prepped race cars can be had in the aftermarket.
I like the Cayman, but the Boxster S is an incredible deal (in Porsche terms, anyway). If you buy a Cayman now you will pay extra for the "first guy on the block" factor.
