A set of Fuses - where to purchase ?

It appears the main vent blower fuse has gone out in my 2014 boxster.
It's 40 amp, but I want to get an entire set of fuses if possible.

All I could find is individual ones here:
https://www.getporscheparts.com/sear...=&make=&model=
I suppose I should also get a fuse puller as well.....
Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

Incredibly....when I was driving around today (with a towel to wipe the windshield !), suddenly the blower came back on....
Now what ?
How to debug this ?

Shouldn't need an entire set. If you want get one spare for each amperage the fuse box holds and carry these in the car somewhere.

Some fuse boxes have spare connectors for holding spare fuses. Check your car's fuse diagram. Should be on the back side of the fuse box lid. This will also list all the fuse locations and their amperages.

My Boxster fuse box came with a fuse puller. If there is not one in your car's fuse box you can probably pick one up at a well stocked auto parts store. You can get fuses there too.

Whenever I read about something like the A/C cabin blower suddenly coming on I think ignition switch. (Ok Ok. I admit it. I also think a little about mice, too.)

Have you "tested" the car's heater/AC system for proper operation? Used all the controls/adjustments to verify air comes from all vent openings, that when you run the temperature control up and down air from the vents becomes warmer then cooler? When you run the fan blower speed control up and down the amoutn of air being blown into the cabin changes with the blower speed?

Thanks Macster....I just received an email from Porsche of Silver Springs, MD and they can assemble all fuse sizes and a puller for $45.
Sounds like a bargain, right ?

Like I said, it just started to work as I was driving on a bumpy street....hmmm...loose connection ? I heard the fuse box is really a "touchy" thing....LOL !
Indeed, the blower speed control is now working fine....as is the "AC Off" button. I have no idea as to the source of the problem....but I am suspecting a PCM firmware problem....as lately I've been logging all of the bugs I have witnessed recently:
1) Recent blower problem
2) When low on gas, it triggers a "Oil level above the level to operate this vehicle". That has been super-consistent. Definitely a bug.
3) When stopped at a CAFE stop light....foot on brake and the engine shuts off as expected. However, It then restarts BEFORE I take my foot off the brake. Another bug.

It's still under warranty...so I am taking this girl to the dealer....once I enumerate all of the problems. My goal is to get the PCM re-flashed with the latest firmware. Heck, I might even tell them to re-flash the PDK as I am unhappy with the gas mileage and suspect a problem with that firmware as well.
I have only the second model year (thank goodness it wasn't the first...LOL)...and I have a funny feeling that all of the bugs were fixed by the 2016 edition.

Whether the fuse kit/fuse puller is a bargain or not only you can decide. I'll point out $45 is not that much money and if it buys you peace of mind...

But I also have to point out if fuses are blowing to the point you need to carry a kit that's a sign of something terribly amiss. I can't recall ever having to replace a bad/blown fuse (or a bad relay) in any car I've owned.

Bringing the PCM and PDK controller (and possibly the DME) up to date firmware wise I think it a good plan. If you can try to get a print out of the things the new/updated firmware is intended to address.

Thanks Macster....and note that Tesla is PROACTIVE with regards to firmware updates whereas Porsche is REACTIVE.
BIG DIFFERENCE....and possibly one reason why Tesla is so popular.
Sometimes I think the technical management team in Stuttgart has their head in the sand....
BTW: What is the DME ?

Porsche sold 23778 vehicles in 2016. Tesla just 76000. And all cars sold by Tesla come with a substantial taxpayer provided subsidy. (In areas where the electric car subsidy has been canceled/stop electric car sales tank.)

I think Tesla has a ways to go before Tesla can be accurately labeled popular or at least more popular than Porsche.

Generally firmware updates are not applied unless there is a safety issue or the customer reports a problem/symptom a firmware update exists to address.

DME stands for "digital motor electronics" and is another way of referring to "engine controller". The DME or engine controller (aka ECU or engine control unit) is the microprocessor that is responsible for engine management/control among other things.

Thanks for that Mac.....
and I see that Porsche is taking the Microsoft approach:
"We'll let them live with it (the bugs) until they make enough noise."
"Even then...we'll 'think about it' before rolling it out.
