I am buying a car off the dealer lot. It has everything I want except nav. They told me it would cost $5800 to have the Porsche unit installed!!

I almost dropped the phone. How difficult can this be? What are the actual parts needed? The head unit is the obvious one, but what else?

ZEMDOGG is infamous around these parts
The parts alone are nearly $4000 or more. Not only is it teh PCM unit its teh DVD drive that is mounted in the trunk. $5800 sounds a bit much I wouldnt expect it to cost anymore than $5000. It sucks but unfortuanately Porsche still never made retrofitting the kit any simpler. Good luck!

aftermarket would be the best choice.

I am not sure that is true. Aftermarket will not integrate with the gauge cluster, Sports chronos package, or personal options settings. Also, it won't have the stock look.
