Loaner Boxster roof/window question

My car is in for a service and they gave me an '06 Boxster. I can't get the windows to close completely when I put the top up. They open about 2" when the top is closing. The window buttons then remain operable only in the down mode. Push them back up and they stop at the same position.

Is there a trick or is there a problem. Might rain here today......

BTW, miss my 993, but this thing is a blast to drive - though the base model could use more horses.

Did you lock the top down with that lever thing? Try opening and closing the doors again.

Yep. Locked that lever. Tried that a couple of times.

Will try the doors.

Sounds like you need to reset the windows.

With the top up and after restarting the car put the windows up all the way and hold the switch in the up position for at least 5 seconds.

That happens to me sometimes. If I put the top up, but shut the car off before latching the top, the windows don't go up. I usually just turn the car on and then latch the top again and it's fine.

Periokid - No more SLK32 huh? I remember you from the MB websites a few years back.

Did you ever get this solved? Sometimes the lever/switch goes bad on the latch that holds the roof close. I believe you can test it by holding a switch down with your finger instead of with the latch.
