Need some advice on a possible Boxster S purchase

Hey guys, tommorow I will be going to test drive a 2003 Boxster S with 17k miles on it.
Manual of course.
Anything in particular I should pay close attention to?
Or common probelms?
I heard after 2001 most Porsches are fine.

Thanks!

Any Porsche is fine.

Get a PPI(Pre Purschase Inspection) done to the car.

If it passes, and you like it,then buy it.

good luck!

I agree, get a PPI done. It doesn't always tell you if the car is in great shape but it'll give you a general idea of what condition it's in.

Does it have xenon/litronic lights? I just got my 03 boxster with 33K miles on it and the passenger light just went out two weeks ago. The dealership told me it was not unusually for the bulb or ballast to go out on those years (03-04). I just replaced the ballast (800 bucks) and bought an extended warranty while I was getting it fixed. I'm glad I bought the warranty because my driver side light just started to flicker off and on over bumps. If you can, I recommend getting an extended warranty. I believe it's worth the money on a Porsche. Parts and service are quite expensive.

PS: My heat sheild and/or Cats are starting to rattle now near my exhaust and I've only put about 300 miles on the car...'Hard' miles though. The PPI didn't catch either one of these.

So how did the test ride go!
Was it awesome? Do you have a new car in the garage?

AKA WANI:
Yes it was awesome, very fun!

And yes I have a new car in the driveway!
Test drove it and seemed ok, but I also bought a 4 year extended warranty to be safe.

I'll take pics when I get a chance, but right now I can't stop driving the car!
Plus the clutch is awesome, it's almost impossible to kill it.

Alrighty!!! Congrats!
What color did end up getting? I almost got the boxster instead of my CS. I was debating between the boxster, cayman, and Z4m. I'm glad I got the
Po-sha though.
So post a pick and let us know what your 1st mod is gonna be.
cya on the roads,

cya on the roads,
Thanks.
Porsches are just amazing machines.
It's silver with black interior, and has the Porsche red calipers with cross drilled rotors.
I love the short shifter on this beast! Super fast shifting is so easy.

I had 2 Nissan 350Zs before this a 2003 and a 2006 both modded, even though I love them, I just couldn't resist the Boxster S.

First mod? To be honest with you, I don't know yet.
I'll be posting pics this weekend.

Congrats on the Boxster...I also came from the Nissan lineup (96' 300ZX Twin Turbo modded) and I have to say the boxster handles like its on rails and has much more feedback from the road. My old 300ZX was a sled in comparison.

Blinkwatt: I didn't want to buy the ballast from the dealership. I couldn't find a ballast for my xenon headlights anywhere on the web. Any suggestions for porsche parts?

Thanks, the ZXs were nice also.
Although my 06 Z handled very close to the S mainly because I was running wide tires and mods, but stock is a different story.
I still love the Zs, but after owning 2 I just wanted to try something different and I couldn't be any more happier with my selection.
