Hello everyone, finally joined the Porsche group with a midnight blue 2003 6 speed 996t with natural brown interior and x50 package. Left from Orillia to Buffalo at 6 AM cleared customs at 10:30 AM and have the car tucked away safe and sound in the garage by 1:30 PM. What an amazing car. Plus my wife loves it too. I look forward to events drives etc with folks on this forum and am planning to attend Watkins Glen vintage race week end June11-13, Porsche is the featured Marque. Looking forward to new postings.

Thanks, will post pics in next couple of days when I take it outside in the sun for photos, judging by your response your colors are? As well my key is stuck in the ignition, switch is burnt, is this a common problem as I also had it happen on my Audi once.

Did the customs give you a hard time about the declared value?
Did they ask for a copy of the car advertisement?

I'm importing one this month and want to be prepared!

Thanks.

I showed them a copy of the bank draft and a copy of the bank wire.
My purchase was done in two parts.

I had no problem at customs, showed them the bill of sale, paid 6.1 duty, gst, and then the trick question, how did it get here from Texas, it was shipped, OK another tax on the shipping, is your buddy getting paid to help you, no sir alright, $6,900 in tax and duty pay at the cashiers window behind you.

I purchased the vehicle through a Porsche dealer CPO so declared value was $54000 US and then they hit me with tax on shipping shipping on top of that. It is what it is and I am thrilled to have a perfect car as I would have ordered it new and this being my first Porsche I have the comfort value of the warranty. I had been looking in Canada for the last 3 months for this combination and the closest I found was a blk on brwn for $80000 cnd non x50 so Im thrilled. Cheers

Thanks for the welcome, Mister, Jason, Thor, I am looking forward driving it as well, I will post pics when I can figure out the procedure. 20 minutes outside of Orillia is close, where abouts? Southwood road is a great drive.
