Front Plate and CPO inspection

I just brought my car over the boarder (Boxster) and I am looking for where to take my car for the $500 CPO inspection in Toronto; PFAFF or Downtown Porsche). Any recommendations?

Also, I need to install a front license plate on my car. Should I go with the Porsche solution (drilling into the bumper to mount the bracket) or go with a Tow hook solution?

Any local recommendations?

Congrats on the purchase!

I can't comment on the 2 dealers as I don't live in TO.

IF I was going to put a plate on my car, I would drill the holes like Porsche. I would do this myself as the bumper and plate holder have notches to ensure you are centered. Porsche wanted a few hundred to install mine.
Tow hook looks odd to me as the plate is off to one side. I like symmetry.

Good luck.

I like the tow hook method, just worried if something hits the plate that it will cut into the bumper...

Mower Deck looks good, but it seems to stick out over an inch beyond the bumper.

there was a lambo crashed by a candian porsche dealer about a month ago. it was a major porsche dealer. not sure which one but you may want to check into it.

also have you discuss the cpo process with a dealer? dealer doesn't offer cpo certification unless you buy it through them. you may end up selling the car to them and then buying it back just for the cpo. cpo also requires that the car be in tip top shape. tires and brakes hv to be nearly new, for example. it is more then just the cost of inspection alone. there are other choices on aftermarket warranties that are less painful.

Why do you have to get a CPO inspection??? Is it for yourself or for RIV?? If for RIV, save the time and money, you can get a printout from a U.S dealer for the recall info which RIV needs. If you need help, PM me and we can talk!

Thanks for the offer...

Funny thing about the CPO inspection. I purchased the car in the US and got them to CPO it for the extra 2 year warranty. I thought that to get the warranty approved in Canada, I had to do a CPO inspection (one dealer calls it a "Import Quality Assurance Process/Porsche Recall Clearance Letter"). I already had the job management printout and RIV passed my car. So I do not need the dealer to provide a clearance letter. I called in to service and had them check my VIN and they said my warranty is good to the date I have (includes additional 2 years). So I no longer need to take my car in (I hope). My next service is in 18,000km.
