What MPG can I expect on a 04 Base v6 Cayenne ?

and a fairly conservative driver.. I MIght have to travel alot next month .. I would say about 300 Miles a week on average..( to Boston) .. I was wondering what can one expect with the v6 base model..

and is the any way to increase efficiency on these cars with mods ?

basically on the highway vs in the town ?

Thanks.

with gas prices creeping into 3+ range in New York for supreme ..

yup...on my06 v6...

If you have a heavy foot around town, the mileage can dip to 13-14mpg.

But on the freeway with little traffic... if you manage your acceleration wisely, taking 60 seconds to go from 50-80mph...

And it's sweet spot with no traffic it is around 65-70mph I get 21mpg. With an average foot, highway/city mix it's 15mpg.

So true.....

At 75 mph to 80 mph loaded down 2 adults and two kids and all the stuff they require for a weekend tip we constantly get 19 to 19.5.......I have seen 20.5 once but I think we had a strong tail wind going through the desert.

It is 255 mile door to door that we do twice a month.....

re:raising fuel efficiency... not much to do reasonably. Possibly stick with the 235mm wide OE tire, inflated @ 40psi, clean waxed exterior, quality fuel and maybe an aftermarket air filter (though I doubt it would help).
